Dental hygiene and periodontal hand instrumentation tutor
Dental hygiene and periodontal hand instrumentation requires alignment of the cutting surface of the instrument at a specific angle and adaptation to the tooth surface. A dental hygiene and periodontal hand instrumentation tutor provides an objective, consistent and accurate way to measure and display the actual angulation and adaptation angles of a periodontal hand instrument and assess instrument use continuously. The method includes detecting the position, orientation, motion path, pressure, angulation angle, adaptation angle, and centerline angle of a periodontal hand instrument and comparing them to ideal positions, orientations, and motion paths; and provides various forms of user feedback.
Multifunctional intraoral imaging system and related methods
The present disclosure relates to visualizing an operative field in the context of a dental operating theater, and more specifically, to a portable, modular, multifunctional intraoral imaging system to assist a practitioner in performing a medical or dental procedure in a confined space (e.g., intraoral cavity or mouth of a patient). The system may include an intraoral camera apparatus having a camera unit equipped with a wireless transmitter, and a viewscreen mounted to an articulated stand or dental delivery unit, wherein the camera wirelessly may transmit an image to a viewscreen located directly in front of a dental practitioner. The practitioner may look directly ahead at a high-definition screen to view the operative field. A dental practitioner may use the apparatus to perform micro-surgical procedures in a confined operative area with less-than-ideal visibility and access, without the present, though generally accepted, physical difficulties and limitations.
Methods and apparatus for periodontal scaling and debridement and gum tissue ablation for treating periodontal and peri-implant disease
The present disclosure is directed to tools, systems and methods for recontouring/reshaping gum tissue by engaging a consumable tip on a powered tool to abrade/ablate excess or mal-contoured gum tissue to allow better visualization of the tooth/implant structure and reduce the periodontal pockets to provide improved access for cleaning by both the patient and clinician. In some embodiments, the powered tool may use vibrational movement, longitudinal reciprocating movement, rotational movement, reciprocating rotational movement, or a combination of any of the above movement schemes. In some embodiments, a consumable tip may be directed for cleaning tooth/implant surfaces and for recontouring/reshaping gum tissue. The powered tool itself may be constructed to allow the cooling water flow used for operation to be directed to the site where the procedure is carried out for irrigation or to be directed elsewhere at the user's selection to facilitate gum contouring procedures.
MECHANICAL COLLAR AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Disclosed herein are mechanical collars comprising a first connecting component and a second connecting component adjoined to one another. The second connecting component may comprise two substantially circular passages, wherein the inner diameter of the first substantially circular passage is larger than the outer diameter of the second substantially circular passage. Also disclosed herein are systems for mitigating the risk of transmission of infectious disease, such as in a healthcare provider's office, comprising mechanical collars as described herein, protective apparatuses, and a mechanical arm such as, without limitation, an articulating mechanical arm. Also disclosed herein are associated methods of mitigating risk of transmission of infectious disease utilizing the mechanical collars and related systems described herein.
Dental isolation system
A dental isolation system includes a dental tool that has a handle portion at a proximal end, a tip portion at an opposite, distal end, and a body portion extending between the handle portion and the tip portion. The handle portion has handles and finger apertures so that a dentist can manipulate the distal end. The tip portion is inserted into an O-ring of a dental dam and, when actuated by a dentist, the tip portion forms a quadrant, allowing the stretched O-ring to easily fit over a tooth.

Application device with redox initiator system, method of production and use thereof
The invention relates to an application device with a handle part and an application part, the application part having a surface onto which a redox initiator system is located, the redox initiator system comprising either hydrophilic oxidizing agent(s) and hydrophobic reducing agent (s), or hydrophobic oxidizing agent(s) and hydrophilic reducing agent(s). The invention also relates to a kit comprising the application device, a method of producing the application device and a method or curing a curable composition using the application device.
Centering device for inserting of a dental implant
The present invention relates to a centering and guiding device (1) for a dental drill which comprises a body (10) including a guiding hole (15) for a dental drill and two arms (20, 30) pivotally coupled to the body (10). Each arm includes a respective free end (22, 32). Said arms (20,30) are capable of pivoting between a first open position, in which said respective free ends (22, 32) are mutually spaced apart to promote the movement of the device (1) from and towards an operating surface, and a second closed position, in which the free ends (22, 32) are approached to each other to match an operating surface. The device according to the invention also comprises an elastic element (40) to push the arms (20, 30) towards the closed position. According to the invention, each of said arms (20, 30) comprises a cylindrical end (27, 37), opposite to the corresponding free end (22, 32), accommodated in a corresponding seat (10A) defined by the body (10). Moreover, the cylindrical ends (27, 37) of said arms (20, 30) comprise respective toothed sectors (25, 35) mutually meshing each other to guide the rotation of said arms (20, 30) between said closed and open positions.
