Shield Assemblies For Use With Patient Support Apparatuses
A shield assembly for providing a barrier adjacent to a patient disposed on a patient support apparatus. The shield assembly comprises a support frame defining a closed periphery and including a resilient element extending along the closed periphery to resiliently urge the support frame toward a bias frame shape. A barrier panel is coupled to the support frame and spans the closed periphery. The shield assembly may further include a base operatively attached to the support frame to selectively place the support frame in a contour frame shape. Tension in the resilient element effected by the base holding the support frame in the contour frame shape places the barrier panel in a curved configuration to define a patient accommodation space shaped to receive the patient adjacent to the base and to the barrier panel.
MOVABLE CURTAIN DISINFECTION DEVICE
A movable curtain disinfection device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes frames installed on an upper portion of a support, spaced apart from each other to face each other, and configured to define a disinfection space for a curtain provided between the frames, rotary rollers provided so that a pair of rotary rollers thereof is mounted on an inner surface of each of the frames, the rotary rollers being configured to rotate so that the curtain passes through the disinfection space, rotary belts each configured to surround an outer portion of each of the pairs of rotary rollers, the rotary belts being configured to guide a movement of the curtain while rotating in conjunction with rotations of the rotary rollers, and disinfection modules disposed between the pairs of rotary rollers and configured to disinfect the curtain passing through the disinfection space.
DISPERSAL AND EXPOSURE CHAMBER SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Allergen exposure chambers (AECs) can be used to produce controlled exposure to allergenic and non-allergenic airborne particles but at present cannot be used for double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trials currently required by regulatory authorities. Accordingly, inventive naturalistic exposure chambers (NECs) designed to mimic the environment(s) within which a typical user/individual is exposed are outlined. Further, reproducible controlled allergen dispersal is achieved via robotic allergen aerosolization systems (AAS) which provide automated movement of the allergen source within the AEC as well as structure for acquiring and/or aerosolizing—distributing the allergen. Robotic AAS can be used to acquire only, distribute only, or acquire and distribute. Robotic AAS may also provide aerosolization of two or more allergens in defined manner.

PORTABLE AEROSOL-PROTECTIVE APPARATUS FOR USE IN A HOSPITAL OR MEDICAL SETTING
Disclosed herein is a portable aerosol-protective apparatus and method for reducing the exposure of healthcare workers to contaminants and aerosols that may contain respiratory and other pathogens. The apparatus generally comprises a shield suitable for forming a partial enclosure around the head-space end of a hospital or surgery bed, through which a medical procedure can be performed on a patient. The method generally comprises performing the medical procedure on the patient through the shield of the disclosed apparatus.
Student Enclosure Assembly
A student enclosure assembly for protecting an individual from airborne pathogens includes an enclosure that is comprised of a fluid impermeable material to protect an occupant from pathogens. The enclosure has a plurality of air holes each extending through the enclosure to pass air into the enclosure. A plurality of filters is each integrated into the enclosure to filter pathogens from the air passing through the air holes. A pair of doors is each hingedly coupled to the enclosure for opening and closing the enclosure. A desk is positioned within the enclosure such that the desk is accessible to the user. A bench is positioned within the enclosure and the occupant can sit on the bench.
Containment, Treatment, and Removal of Aerosolized Viral Contamination
The present invention provides devices and methods to capture airborne agents, microbes, including viruses, and microbial antigens, toxins and allergens and prevent the spread of infection from direct contact with contaminated surfaces (contact contamination), from large droplets of infectious material that fall out of the air, or from small droplets that can be carried by the air stream throughout the environment (airborne contamination).
Body Composition Measuring Device Using Nine Segments and Operation Method Thereof
Disclosed are a body composition measuring device using nine segments and an operation method thereof. The disclosed body composition measuring device comprises: both hand electrode parts and both foot electrode parts, each of which has a plurality of electrodes; two arm electrode parts attached to elbow joint regions of both arms, respectively; two leg electrode parts attached to knee joint regions of both legs, respectively; and a processing unit for causing electric current to flow through different combinations of the both hand electrode parts, the both foot electrode parts, the arm electrode parts, and the leg electrode parts at the time of measurement so as to measure impedance values of a measurement object, and then analyzing the body composition of the measurement object.
TESTING SYSTEM
A testing system collects a specimen from a subject and measures the collected specimen to test the specimen, and includes a box to allow at least one of specimen collection for collecting and receiving the specimen, preprocessing for processing the collected specimen before measurement, or specimen measurement for measuring the preprocessed specimen to be performed therein.
