METHODS AND MEDICAL ELONGATE BODIES
A method and a medical elongate body are configured to prevent stagnation or turbulence of blood flow in a recess of a rugged pattern formed in a blood vessel due to bulging of a blood vessel wall at a lesion part of the blood vessel. The method involves partitioning an inside of the blood vessel into upstream and downstream sides of the recess, and introducing gel into the recess to at least partially fill the recess. A blood vessel lumen forming method and medical elongate body to form such a lumen are other aspects of the disclosure and involve introducing gel into the recess to at least partially fill the recess with the gel, and drilling the gel to remove at least some of the gel to form a passage and secure blood flow in the blood vessel.
A METHOD AND A DEVICE FOR ESTIMATING AN AMOUNT OF A POWDER SHAPED MATERIAL PASSING A BEND IN A FLOW CHANNEL
The present invention provides a method for estimating an amount of a powder shaped material passing a bend in a flow channel, such as how much drug from an inhaler reaches the lungs of a person. The estimation is based on both the flow rate of the inhalation as well as the rate of release of the drug into the flow channel, where the rate or release itself depends on the flow.
Systems and methods for treating blood
According to some embodiments, a system may treat blood outside the body of a patient. The system may include one or more pumps configured to draw blood from a patient into a fluid flow path at a rate, for example, of 5-7 liters per minute. The system may include one or more heat exchangers coupled to the fluid flow path and configured to heat the blood, for example, to a temperature above 42 degrees Celsius and below 43.2 degrees Celsius.
DELIVERY OF MEDICINAL GAS IN A LIQUID MEDIUM
Systems and methods for delivering a gas, such as nitric oxide, are provided. In some embodiments, systems and methods are provided for delivering a gas, such as nitric oxide, in the form of nanobubbles and/or a dissolved gas using a liquid medium.

Therapeutic foam
A therapeutic foam for the treatment of, inter alia, varicose veins comprises a sclerosing solution foamed with a physiological gas such as carbon dioxide, oxygen or a mixture thereof. The foam has a nitrogen content of less than 0.8%. It may be generated using a pressurized canister system incorporating a fine mesh of micron dimensions through which the gas and sclerosing liquid are passed to make the foam. Alternatively, the foam may be generated by passing gas and solution between two syringes through a fine mesh. Techniques are described for minimizing the amount of nitrogen in a canister or syringe based product. A technique for generating and delivering foam simultaneously using a syringe based device is also disclosed.
Apparatus and method for deploying a surgical preparation
A device used for applying an antiseptic preparation to a surgical site of a patient prior to surgery outside of an operating theater. A loose-fitting bag is provided which encloses the surgical site by securing the open end(s) to the patient by closing means. A high friction scrub surface is provided in the bag. A method and apparatus are also provided for releasing antiseptic into the interior of the bag. The method provides that the surgical site can be scrubbed within the bag so as to properly prepare the skin for surgery. A temperature indicator for the antiseptic preparation is also provided.
DEVICE FOR THE REGIONAL ANTICOAGULATION
A device for regional anticoagulation by citrate-Calcium, of the type usable in a circuit which comprises a first duct or blood line (2) provided with an inlet (1) to withdraw blood from the patient and a downstream outlet (7) for return the treated blood to the patient, device characterized in that it is arranged on said blood line (2) and is provided with a membrane made of a material adapted to bind with the Citrate.
