Drug delivery device with messaging label
A drug delivery device includes a housing, a reservoir, a cannula, one or more light sources, a label, and a controller. The reservoir is disposed within the housing. The cannula is connected to the reservoir for delivering a drug from the reservoir to the patient. The light sources are disposed adjacent the exterior surface of the housing, and each serves to indicate one of one or more operational conditions of the device. The label is fixed to the housing adjacent the light sources, and includes one or more informational messages. Each informational message is aligned with one of the light sources for conveniently conveying to a user an operational condition of the device as indicated by the corresponding light source. Finally, the controller is operably connected to the reservoir and the light sources. The controller is configured to actuate the reservoir to deliver the drug, and to selectively illuminate the one or more light sources based on the operational condition of the drug delivery device.
EXTREMITY IRRIGATION DEBRIDEMENT BASIN
An extremity irrigation debridement basin includes a body having a floor and a sidewall extending between the floor and an upper rim. An opening is positioned opposite the floor and defined by the upper rim. A port extends through the sidewall. A shield extends upward from the upper rim of the sidewall. A recess is formed in the sidewall. The recess extends from an upper rim opening toward the floor.
Dose control system for injectable-drug delivery devices and associated methods of use
The present invention relates to a dose control system adapted for an injectable drug delivery device, the drug delivery device comprising a substantially elongate drug delivery body, at least one injectable drug held by the body, the body having a distal and proximal extremity, wherein the dose control system comprises three-dimensional magnetic field producing means for producing a magnetic field along three axes (x,y,z); magnetic field detection means configured to detect changes in at least the magnetic field produced by the three-dimensional magnetic field producing means; displacement detection means configured to measure a relative displacement or relative movement of the drug delivery device, and an integrated control unit, wherein the integrated control unit is connected to the magnetic field detection means, and to the displacement detection means, for processing information received from both the magnetic field detection means and the displacement detection means; wherein the three-dimensional magnetic field producing means is configured to effect a rotating coaxial displacement around, and along, a longitudinal axis of the drug delivery system; the magnetic field detection means are located along said longitudinal axis; and the three-dimensional magnetic field producing means is located at, or near, a proximal extremity of the body of the drug delivery device.
Dose control device for injectable-drug delivery devices
A dose control device adapted to be removably mounted onto an exterior peripheral surface of an injectable drug delivery device, the drug delivery device including a substantially elongate drug delivery body, at least one injectable drug held by the body, the body having a distal and proximal extremity. The dose control device includes a first component configured to fit and substantially encase at least a portion of an exterior peripheral surface of the drug delivery device, and located at a proximal extremity of the drug delivery device; a second component configured to fit and substantially encase a corresponding remaining unencased portion of the exterior peripheral surface of the drug delivery device, and also located at a proximal extremity of the drug delivery device. The first component and the second component removably engage with each other to form a unit having a longitudinal bore that extends along a longitudinal axis of the drug delivery device, and in which bore the drug delivery device is encased between the first component and the second component.
Gas supply warning and communication system
A fluid supply warning and communication system including a digital regulator in fluid tight engagement with a primary fluid reservoir. A method of using the fluid supply warning and communication system by flowing a fluid from a primary fluid reservoir to an end use appliance and detecting flow rate and pressure of the fluid with a digital regulator. A gas supply warning and communication system including an oxygen flow monitor that monitors SpO2, flow rate, pulse rate, and battery levels. A method of using the gas supply warning and communication system by flowing oxygen from a primary gas reservoir to an end use appliance, and measuring SpO2, flow rate, pulse rate, tank status, and battery levels.
ATTACHMENT FOR MONITORING INHALER USAGE
An attachment for monitoring an inhaler usage to be used for monitoring a usage frequency of patients using inhalers is provided. The attachment allows monitoring the inhaler usage of the patients and provides a low energy consumption. With an effective power management system developed with the attachment, the attachment is used for a longer period of time without a need for a battery replacement.
PICC LINE SEPARATOR
The present invention relates to a system consisting of one or more instruments, which provides a simple method for detaching a connector cap from the connector as this is the juncture utilized to administer fluids into the body via an IV peripherally inserted central catheter, commonly know as a PICC or PIC line. This device enables one to avoid potential breakage of the PICC line connector cap, which can occur utilizing current procedures. The system is put into place whereby the portion of the instrument associated with the fixed end of the PICC line (that which is implanted in the patient) is slid over the PICC line connector and held stationary, while the portion of the accompanying instrument associated with the free end of the PICC line is secured around the connector cap and rotated counterclockwise until the connector cap assembly is loose enough to be separated without further aid.
Inhaler training system and method
The invention relates to a method and system for providing feedback to a patient using an inhaler of a specific type for inhaling a therapeutic aerosol according to instructions for use provided to the patient with the inhaler. The method comprises the steps of obtaining a sequence of digital audio signals and a sequence of digital video signals emitted from the patient while using the inhaler, recognising the type of the inhaler by processing the video signals, recognising whether the patient has deviated from the instructions by processing the audio and video signals, and recognising the type of the deviation; and presenting to the patient one or more feedback messages indicating whether a deviation was recognised, and if so, what type of deviation occurred, and optionally an inhalation manoeuvre without the deviation.
