EXPLOSIVE ORDINANCE DISPOSAL SUITS
Explosive ordinance disposal suits having improved protection. The jacket and trousers are configured such that the jacket is worn inside of said trousers.
Protective apparel and support apparatus and method of use
A protective apparel support system is disclosed comprising a support frame configured to rest on the shoulders of a wearer, the support having a first shoulder member, a second shoulder member and a shield engagement portion. A shield is selectively coupleable to the support and protective apparel is coupled to the shield.
Chemical protective poncho system
A chemical protective poncho system for encapsulating a patient is presented. The system has a body extending a length between a top end and a bottom end and having a hood attached near the top end and having a liner attached near the bottom end. The system includes a layer of adsorbent impregnated media capable of filtering chemical agents while allowing oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass through the material. The chemical protective poncho is specially adapted to fit over the top of a patient and chemically seal the lower portion of the patient while allowing the patient ambulatory freedom. The system also includes ports for intravenous access as well as a port for respiratory access. The system may also include a powered air purifying respirator which positively pressurizes the interior space of the system.
Combination air filter and protective gown
A combined air filter and protective gown includes a protective gown; at least one tube; at least one air filter; a waist belt; check valves disposed at a face, two hands, and two ankles of the protective gown respectively; and ties for fastening the face, the hands, and the ankles of the protective gown respectively. One end of each tube is terminated inside the protective gown and the other end thereof is attached to the air filter. Each air filter is attached to the waist belt. Each air filter includes a centrifugal fan, a circuit board, a UV lamp, a filter element formed of activated carbon, a power supply, a housing for enclosing the centrifugal fan, the circuit board, the UV lamp, the filter element, and the power supply, and a cover threadedly secured to the housing.
AIR RESPIRATOR AND FIREPROOF CLOTHING WORN WITH AIR RESPIRATOR
A back carrier of an air respirator includes a cooling conduit section having a meandering metal conduit. The cooling conduit section is interposed between a branching port having a pressure reducing valve built in and a medium-pressure hose. Breathable gas that is filled in a cylinder at high pressure, and adiabatically expanded via the pressure reducing valve flows into the cooling conduit section so as to exert a cooling effect around the cooling conduit section. Such an air respirator can be used for protective clothing and also for fireproof clothing.
Personal protection and ventilation system
A personal protection and ventilation system is provided. The system includes a gown having front and rear panels, a hood, and visor; a fan; an air tube; and a helmet. The fan is positioned between the wearer and a body-facing surface of the rear panel. The front panel and at least a portion of the hood are formed from a first material including a first spunbond layer, a spunbond-meltblown-spunbond laminate, and a liquid impervious elastic film disposed therebetween. The first material has an air volumetric flow rate of less than about 1 standard cubic feet per minute (scfm). The rear panel is formed from a second material including a nonwoven laminate having an air volumetric flow rate of about 20 scfm to about 80 scfm. Therefore, the fan is able to intake a sufficient amount of air from the environment through the rear panel to provide cooling/ventilation to the hood.
Low-flow alarm and valve
A low-flow alarm optionally having a variable pressure pre-set threshold, for use with protective suits and hoods is disclosed. In one embodiment, a low-flow valve alarm comprises an adjustable spindle handwheel having a hole, a valve body having an air inlet port, the valve body connected with the adjustable spindle handwheel, a hollow handwheel body joined to the adjustable spindle handwheel, a diaphragm sealing collar joined to a whistlehead retaining body, the whistlehead retaining body having a central bore and joined with a whistlehead, a resilient diaphragm joined with a control spindle disposed within the central bore of the whistlehead retaining body, the control spindle having an air channel, wherein air can travel through the air channel, wherein air flow is adapted to act on the resilient diaphragm, compressing a spring and wherein a low air pressure condition relaxes compression on the spring, producing an audible alarm.
Single use integrated speed reduction and gearless device
A single use integrated disposable rotational speed reduction assembly having a shaft assembly, a housing, an output assembly, and a plurality of planetary gears each having a plurality of gear teeth. The shaft assembly is configured to cause rotation of the planetary gears with a sun gear. The rotation of the planetary gears is configured to cause rotation of an output shaft, with a reduction of rotational speed relative to the rotation of the shaft assembly. One or more gear components or spacers can be configured to fail after a predetermined number of use cycles.
GARMENT WITH SAFETY FEATURES
A garment with safety features is described. The garment includes a covering configured to cover at least a portion of a wearer. The covering extends between a first location and a second location spaced apart from the first location. The garment includes a flexible panel with the covering overlaying the flexible panel. The flexible panel is attached to the covering at the first location and the second location. The covering comprises excess material between the first location and the second location, the excess material being configured to accommodate stretching of the flexible panel.
Garment fastener and method for assembling a garment portion
A garment assembly including a first garment portion having an outer perimeter, a second garment portion, and a first fastener. The first fastener is positioned on the first garment portion and configured to removably attach the first garment portion to the second garment portion. The first fastener has a base portion that extends entirely about the outer perimeter. The first fastener further has an extension portion that overlaps with at least part of the base portion in a radial direction but is axially spaced apart from the base portion.
