Downhill ski training method and apparatus
An instructional device for an instructor to use with a student for downhill skiing is disclosed. In use, the instructor skis to the side and behind the student skier. A curved extension member is provided at the end of a shaft and is placed against the student skier's midsection to provide stability and balance for the student. Two student handles can be attached to the extension member. The student handles serve two purposes. The device can be easily converted for use either from the student's right side or left side, depending on the instructor's preference. Second, the student handles can be added as the student progresses to help correctly position the student's hands and develop good posture for the eventual use of ski poles. An instructor handle is located along the shaft. The instructor handle may be adjustable along the length of the shaft.
SPORT-BOOT PRESSURE MONITOR AND METHOD OF USE
A sport-boot pressure monitoring system and method of use. The system includes a left boot sensor having a left flexible fluid-containing bladder shaped to fit between a user's left leg and an interior surface of a left boot worn by the user and a left pressure sense element in pressure-sensing communication with the left flexible fluid-containing bladder, a right boot sensor that is similar to the left one, and a controller to provide a pressure alert if pressure between one of the user's legs and the interior surface of the boot worn on that leg violates a predetermined pressure threshold and to provide a proximity alert if a distance between the left and right boots violates a predetermined proximity threshold.
Skis comprising a series of parallel air tunnels
The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to a pair of skis that exhibit increased speed compared to prior art skis. Specifically, each ski exhibits a reduced projected frontal area to decrease drag force (and thereby increase speed). Each ski includes a plurality of parallel air tunnels that run along the length of the ski from the front end to the rear end. The tunnels enable a significant portion of the air that contacts the front end of the skis to simply pass through the skis. In this way, the projected frontal area of the skis is considerably reduced compared to conventional solid skis. As a result, the ski exhibits increased speed based on the decrease in drag force compared to prior art skis.

Support and suspension assembly for a snow sports board
A support assembly for use with snow sports boards includes a base configured to be attached to the snow sports board. A frame has a first portion extending downward and a second portion extending rearward from the first portion. A seat is mounted on the second portion of the frame. A shock absorber extends between the base and the first portion of the frame. During use, the support assembly is configured to support a rider sitting on the seat in a face-forward position with the rider's knees vertically below and forward of the rider's hips.

Cross-country ski trail grooming device and method
A device attachable to a pair of cross-country skis for grooming a trail in fresh snow simply by skiing the first pass. The purpose of this invention is to create a grooved trail in fresh snow to guide all skiers that follow in the same track. Without this attachment installed on the lead skier's ski, the soft snow on each side of the packed ski track does not help to keep the subsequent skier's ski in the lead skier's track. For them, it is like trying to ski on top of a narrow rail. This creates a situation where the skier must be diligent to stay in the track. With this device installed on the lead skiers ski, the subsequent skiers are guided by the packed snow on the sides of the lead skier's ski track. When skiing in tracks made using this invention, a skier can ski faster and smoother than in untracked snow. Since the compacted track helps guide the skier in the track, it allows the skier to focus on, and enjoy, the surroundings scenery. Another unique characteristic of this invention is its 2-part construction that allows the trail-making portion of the invention to be added and/or removed at any time. This allows the skier to easily change from being the lead skier to being a following skier. Or, if skiing alone, to return without the trail-making attachment, along the track he or she previously made.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONFIGURING SKIS INTO AN EMULATION SNOWBOARD
A system, configuration, and method for converting a pair of skis to perform as an emulation snowboard is provided. The system includes a pair of skis, and a coupling device including a platform having an upper planar surface with a plurality of mounting locations with mounting system therein. The mounting system couples the skis together and provides a surface on which a pair of bindings may be affixed. The steps for conversion include providing a pair of skis, removing a ski binding from each ski in the pair of skis, if a binding is installed on either ski in the pair of skis, providing a platform with a mounting system, utilizing the mounting system to affix the platform to each ski in the pair of skis, and attaching a pair of snowboard bindings to the platform.
