REACTOR WITH SHAFT COOLING
Reactor for recovery or recycling of hydrocarbon products from hydrocarbon-containing material by decomposing and gasifying the material in a reactor housing, comprising a gas/particle separator device arranged to separate solid particles accompanying the gas and to return these particles directly to the reactor housing in the opposite direction to axially flowing gasified hydrocarbon products, and/or comprising a rotor shaft with axially running channels which are in flow communication with a coolant, and/or comprising a radial play formed between the periphery of a rotor and the inside of the reactor housing and amounting to at least 3 cm and at most 6 cm.
Method for processing electronic and electrical device component scrap
Provided is a method for processing electronic and electrical device component scrap, which can accurately and efficiently sort electronic and electrical device component scrap. The method for processing electronic and electrical device component scrap includes a separation step of separating non-metal objects 1b or metal objects 1a.sub.1, 1a.sub.2 from electronic and electrical device component scrap 1 containing the metal objects 1a.sub.1, 1a.sub.2 and the non-metal objects 1b using a sorter 10 comprising a metal sensor 2, a color camera 3, an air valve 4, and a conveyor 5, wherein a fixed distance is provided between the metal objects 1a.sub.1, 1a.sub.2 adjacent to each other so as to prevent the non-metal objects 1b between the metal objects 1a.sub.1, 1a.sub.2 from being erroneously detected, when detecting the metal objects 1a.sub.1, 1a.sub.2 in the electronic and electrical device component scrap 1 by the metal sensor 2.
OPERATING METHOD FOR A BATCH PROCESS
An operating method for a batch process, the batch process comprising a plurality of operating phases and within each phase there is provided at least one operating mode, one of the modes of each phase being a standby mode or its equivalent, wherein a transition from a first phase to a second phase requires that the first phase be initialised to its standby mode or equivalent and upon completion of the phase change the second phase enters its standby mode or equivalent.
TWO-STAGE REMEDIATION OF PARTICULATE MATERIAL
Methods and systems are provided for two-stage treatment of contaminated particulate material, such as soil, sediment, and/or sludge. The methods and systems utilize a thermal desorption process combined with a smoldering combustion process. The contaminated particulate material is first exposed to thermal desorption at high temperatures (e.g., greater than 150° C.) to form a heated contaminated particulate material. Next, a smoldering combustion process is initiated by introducing a combustion-supporting gas. The combined process can take place in the same or different treatment units. Treating the particulate material with a thermal desorption process prior to a smoldering combustion process enhances the completeness and throughput compared to operating these processes separately.
Method for recovering lithium from lithium ion battery scrap
A method for recovering lithium from lithium ion battery scrap according to this invention comprises subjecting lithium ion battery scrap to a calcination step, a crushing step, and a sieving step sequentially carried out, wherein the method comprises, between the calcination step and the crushing step, between the crushing step and the sieving step, or after the sieving step, a lithium dissolution step of bringing the lithium ion battery scrap into contact with water and dissolving lithium contained in the lithium ion battery scrap in the water to obtain a lithium-dissolved solution; a lithium concentration step of solvent-extracting lithium ions contained in the lithium-dissolved solution and stripping them to concentrate the lithium ions to obtain a lithium concentrate; and a carbonation step of carbonating the lithium ions in the lithium concentrate to obtain lithium carbonate.
Method and reagents for treating materials contaminated with mercury, PFAS, or other contaminants
A reagent set includes an oxidant, acid, and adsorbent, which is used in a method for reducing the leachability and release of PFAS, mercury, and other contaminants from soils, sediments, and other solid materials or waste when treated materials are exposed to acid rain, snow melt, runoff, landfill leachate, etc. The reagents are mixed with a quantity of contaminated material and water is added as needed in order to reduce the leachability of the contaminants from the treated host material, where the admixture end-product suitably removes contaminants from fluids that contact and/or otherwise permeate and/or pass through and/or around the treated admixture. The reagent set and method of use offer environmental professionals long-term, economically viable waste management solutions for removing contaminants from contamination source areas, spill and manufacturing release sites, impacted media, and landfills, as well as from the fluids that contact reagent-treated material.
