Loading table roller brush assembly

A transport roller brush assembly that includes a base that is constructed to support a plurality of brush wires such that the plurality of brush wires are oriented to extend in a radial direction relative to an axis of rotation of an underlying material transport roller. The base is preferably split into at least two arcuate portions that can be removeably secured to one another preferably via cooperation of a plurality of collar or collar portions and such that the respective and preferably two arcuate portions generally circumscribe a transport roller when the base is secured thereto. Discrete brush assemblies are preferably provided in a plurality of inner and outer radial dimensions such that roller brush assemblies as disclosed herein can be used with transport rollers of various outer radial dimensions.

Sliding transport of rolled product with adaptation of friction

A pinch roll delivers a respective rolled product. A control device opens the pinch roll at a respective trigger time and at a respective transport speed of the respective rolled product. The control device determines the respective trigger time and/or the respective transport speed using a model that depends on a coefficient of friction. After opening the pinch roll, a measuring device detects iteratively a position or a derivation in time of the position of the respective rolled product. The detected positions or the detected derivations in time of the position are provided to the control device. The control device in dependency on the positions or the derivations in time of the position updates the coefficient of friction and uses the updated coefficient of friction for determining the respective trigger time and/or the respective transport speed for the next rolled product delivered by the pinch roll.

Roll comprising an abradable coating

A protective and abradable coating composition is suitable for application on rolls and more particularly for application on conveyor rolls. The abradable coating is suitable for use in high temperature applications. Rolls incorporating the coating may be produced and used according to disclosed processes and procedures. Application of the composition to rolls reduces corrosion by aluminium melt, and enables the removal of built-up substances by friction. The life time of the roll is thereby increased.

Roll feeder and coilded material conveyance method

A roll feeder is usable to intermittently feed a coiled material. The roll feeder includes a paired first roll and second roll, a meandering detector, a pressing component, and a controller. The paired first roll and second roll are disposed so as to clamp the coiled material. The paired first roll and second roll are configured to feed the coiled material in a conveyance direction. The meandering detector is configured to detect meandering of the coiled material from a specific conveyance position in a width direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction of the coiled material. The pressing component is configured to press the first roll against the coiled material being conveyed. The controller is configured to control the pressing component so as to correct the meandering based on detection by the meandering detector.
