A multi-stage incremental sheet forming system includes a forming tool, and at least one control unit in communication with the forming tool. The at least one control unit is configured to determine a convex hull of a target structure to be formed by the forming tool. The at least one control unit is further configured to operate the forming tool according to a first tool path in relation to an initial structure to form an intermediate structure having a shape based on the convex hull of the target structure. The at least one control unit is further configured to operate the forming tool according to a second tool path in relation to the intermediate structure to form one or more inward features into the intermediate structure to form the target structure.

The systems and methods receive values for parameters of properties of the material and of a bending process to be performed by the bend forming tool, creating or retrieving a calibration curve relating input bending parameter and resultant bending parameter based on the values from a database of calibration curves, determining a first springback compensated input bending parameter based on the target resultant bending parameter using the calibration curve, inputting the first springback compensated input bending parameter to the bend forming tool, and in a first step of bending the material, bending the material to the first springback compensated input bending parameter by applying the bending process using the bend forming tool.

The present disclosure provides for a reversible and adjustable stopper assembly comprised of an upper frame, L-bracket, connector portion and stopping member. The stopper can be configured to be secured to at least two main types of press brakes. The stopping portion of the stopper is also reversible, allowing for less sheet metal to be inserted into the press brake, if desired. The stopper assembly can be slid in a horizontal manner, relative to the press brake to preserve the measurement of the sheet metal from one end of the press brake to the other.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HEATING AND ROLL FORMING A PRODUCT

Systems and methods are described for roll-forming metal substrates. The metal substrates are subjected to induction heating during the roll-forming process by exposure to time-varying magnetic fields, such as by exposure to a rotating permanent magnet, or exposure to laser radiation from a laser source. Heating of the metal substrates allows improved formability or plasticity of the substrate in order to reduce or eliminate damage to the substrate during roll-forming to low bending radius to thickness ratios. Heating of the high-strength metal substrates can also function to temper the substrates and/or improve surface corrosion resistance and form high-strength end products with desirable properties.
