USE OF A COATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING AN ACID IN THE FOUNDRY INDUSTRY
The present invention describes the use of a coating composition, comprising an aqueous phase having a pH of at most 5 and one or more refractories, in the foundry industry and also coated, waterglass-bound foundry molding elements, especially foundry molds and/or foundry cores, which each comprise such an aforementioned coating composition. The invention further describes a method for producing a coated, waterglass-bound foundry molding element. The invention likewise describes a kit whose contents include an aforementioned coating composition, comprising aqueous acid and one or more refractories.
Furnace assembly
A furnace assembly for dewaxing investment casting molds includes a housing having a top and a bottom and sides and extends along an axis to define a cavity. A plurality of tiles are supported in a spaced relationship with the bottom of the housing and define a pair of lower chambers for directing the wax vapors out of the cavity. A plurality of trays having apertures are supported by the tiles for moving molds through the housing. Chimneys connect to the lower chambers and a passageway is defined by the tiles for evacuating the wax and wax vapors from the cavity to the lower chambers and out through the chimneys. A pair of lower burners extends into the lower chambers for igniting wax vapors in said lower chambers. The heat from the lower chambers radiantly heats up portions of the furnace assembly that are disposed above the lower chambers.

GREEN SAND MOLD MOLDING SENSOR AND GREEN SAND MOLD MOLDABILITY EVALUATION METHOD
A casting mold molding machine includes a green sand mold molding sensor including a pressure sensor for evaluating moldability of a green sand mold molded by a casting mold molding machine, wherein the pressure sensor is embedded in a squeeze board or squeeze feet that compresses green sand.
Method of catching overflow of a liquid fluid utilized to cast a component
A method of catching overflow of a liquid fluid utilized to cast a component is disclosed. Sand is compacted to form a mold. A cutter of a cutting device is in a disengaged position spaced from a top surface of the mold when the cutting device is in a first position and the cutter is in an engaged position engaging the top surface of the mold when the cutting device is in a second position. The cutter is actuated when the cutting device is in the second position and the cutter is in the engaged position to remove sand from the top surface to define a recess therein to catch overflow of the liquid fluid. The recess is spaced from an opening. At least one blocking mechanism, blowing mechanism and adjustment mechanism is utilized to assist the cutting device.
