CUTTER HOLDER WITH VIBRATION RESISTANT STRUCTURE
A cutter holder has a body and a damping assembly. The damping assembly is contained inside the body. The damping assembly has a central damping pole and six auxiliary damping poles. The six auxiliary damping poles are arranged around the central damping pole. The body has a specific weight. The central damping pole has a specific weight larger than the specific weight of the body. Each one of the six auxiliary damping poles has a specific weight larger than the specific weight of the body. The damping assembly is utilized to reduce vibrations caused by machining.
NON-ROTATING BORING TOOL FOR INTERNAL TURNING AND A BORING ARRANGEMENT COMPRISING SUCH A BORING TOOL
A non-rotating boring tool for internal turning includes a boring bar having an elongated body, a cutting element with a rake side, a relief surface and a cutting edge, and an electrically controlled vibration actuator for active vibration damping of the boring bar. Moreover, when seen in a cross-sectional plane that is perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the elongated body and intersecting the cutting edge in a radially outermost point, straight and imaginary first and second reference lines intersect the cutting edge in the radially outermost point with the first reference line extending at an angle of 6° to the relief surface on the outside of the cutting element, and the second reference line extending between the rake side and the relief surface at an angle of 10-40° to the first reference line. The actuator is arranged with its working axis extending in parallel with the second reference line.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DEBURRING A WORKPIECE WITH AN INNER TOOTHING
A method for deburring an internally toothed workpiece includes providing a workpiece and a deburring tool. The workpiece has an inner toothing produced by hob peeling, with first and second tooth flanks. The deburring tool has a first cutting plate and a second cutting plate, diametrically opposed to the first cutting plate. The method includes rotating the workpiece in a first rotating direction and deburring the first tooth flanks with the first cutting plate while the deburring tool is not rotating. The method also includes shifting the deburring tool relative to the workpiece such that the first cutting plate and the second cutting plate do not contact the workpiece, rotating the workpiece in a second rotating direction, opposite the first rotating direction, further shifting the deburring tool relative to the workpiece, and deburring the second tooth flanks with the second cutting plate while the deburring tool is not rotating.
SINGLE-CRYSTAL DIAMOND CUTTING TOOL
A single-crystal diamond cutting tool is provided with a flank and a rake face, a cutting edge being provided at a boundary between the flank and the rake face, an inclined surface being provided at a location distant from the cutting edge, the inclined surface being contiguous to the rake face and inclined at 0.05 degrees or more and 80 degrees or less with respect to the rake face, the rake face having a roughness Ra of 1 .Math.m or less, the cutting edge being provided with a chamfered surface or round honing having a width of 1 .Math.m or less, the cutting edge having projections and depressions having a width of 100 nm or less and smaller than that of the chamfered surface or round honing.
TOOL MAIN BODY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING TOOL MAIN BODY
A tool main body to which an insert is attachable, in which the tool main body is made of sintered metal material, and the sintered metal material includes a parent phase made of a metal and a plurality of pores present in the parent phase.
Damper System for Cutting Tool
A damper system for a cutting tool is provided having at least one damper body that is added to a cutter body of the cutting tool to help dampen a vibration when the cutting tool is placed in use. The damper body is supported by a damper ring. The damper ring is held in place between a central support boss or hub and an adjustable top cap. The adjustable top cap can be tightened or loosened by use of a fastener element to change the amount of pressure on the damper ring. By adjusting the tension placed on the damper ring, the damper system can be tuned to better suppress vibrations when the cutting tool is placed in use.
Indexable cutting insert having two cutting portions located in diagonally opposite quadrants and two lower abutment elements, and cutting tool therefor
An indexable cutting insert has a central mounting portion and two cutting portions. The central mounting portion has opposing upper and lower surfaces. The lower surface has two abutment elements associated therewith, each abutment element having two diverging abutment surfaces forming two abutment angles. The two cutting portions extend away from the central mounting portion, have distal cutting edges, and are entirely located in diagonally opposite imaginary quadrants of four quadrants defined by two mutually perpendicular quadrant planes. Two abutment bisector planes bisecting the two abutment angles and one of the quadrant planes are parallel or coincident. In a top view, the two cutting portions extend away from the central mounting portion in opposite directions. Two cutting bisector lines parallel to the two directions and bisecting the two cutting edges are mutually offset. A cutting tool has an insert holder and the cutting insert removably retained therein.
Y-AXIS PARTING ADAPTOR FOR A CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool assembly having a longitudinal axis establishing upward and downward directions, includes a Y-axis parting adaptor mounted onto a holder. The parting adaptor has an insert pocket including a base jaw configured to support a cutting insert. The holder has a holder head portion and a shank portion. The holder head portion has an adaptor pocket in which the parting adaptor is mounted. If the holder shank cross-sectional shape is square or rectangular the forwardmost cutting edge is directly above the forwardmost holder shank surface, and if the holder shank cross-sectional shape is round and a centrally extending holder shank axis extends to the forwardmost cutting edge.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A PROCESS TO CREATE IMPROVED PIPING TO SUPRESS THE BUILD UP OF BIOLOGICAL ORGANISMS
A system and method for a process to prepare piping such that it has a reduced chance of having biological organisms developing or growing within it by means of the addition of a metal structure to at least a portion of the inner wall of the piping. The system utilizes a limited amount of metal on or close to the inside wall of the piping to retard or suppress the growth of biological organisms within the piping. The limited amount of metal inside the pipe does not materially interfere with the structural aspects or performance of the pipe, nor does it significantly increasing the material costs of the pipe, while providing a unique and novel improved anti-biologic organism performance. The system is suitable for residential or commercial use.
