Die for a punching device
09839952 · 2017-12-12 · ·

The invention relates to a die for a punching device. The die comprises a die base body and a workpiece support body, which is provided on the die base body, to support a workpiece to be machined as well as a cutting to length mechanism for cutting a workpiece part of the workpiece to length. The cutting to length mechanism has a cutting to length element and a counter-cutting to length element for cutting to length interaction with the cutting to length element by several cutting to length strokes. The cutting to length element and the counter-cutting to length element can be displaced relative to one another between a cutting to length position, in which the cutting to length element and the counter-cutting to length element interact with one another so as to cut to length, and an open position, in which the cutting to length element and the counter-cutting to length element are spaced apart from one another. Furthermore, the die has a guide mechanism to guide the workpiece part.

Multiple stroke slotting of planar workpieces

A method for multiple-stroke slotting of planar workpieces includes positioning a workpiece relative to a slotting tool having a punch and a die, moving the punch and the die relative to one another, moving the slotting tool and the workpiece relative to one another, slotting a workpiece by a slot length during a sectioning slot stroke and at least one subsequent slotting stroke in a sectioning phase, and performing strokes in form of slotting strokes and at least one trimming stroke during the relative movement of the punch and the die in a working phase. The subsequent slotting stroke is performed prior to the trimming stroke, and the slot length exceeds a maximum attainable slot length during the trimming stroke. The workpiece and the slotting tool are moved relative to one another by at least one feed movement between the strokes.

PNEUMATIC TOOL

A pneumatic tool for joining steel decking includes a pneumatic actuator assembly which drives a push rod. The push rod is coupled to a linkage assembly comprising a rocker link having one end rotatably coupled to the frame of the pneumatic tool, a punch arm having one end rotatably coupled to the frame, and a coupler link rotatably coupled to both the rocker link and the punch arm. At the bottom of the pneumatic tool, a punching mechanism is formed by a stationary die affixed to the frame and a movable jaw with a punch provided at the end of the punch arm. An operator may use a trigger mechanism to release a flow of pressurized air into the actuator assembly, thereby driving the push rod out of the housing of the actuator assembly. The end of the push rod is coupled to both the rocker link and the coupler link, so linear movement of the push rod out of the housing causes the rocker link to rotate about a joint link with the frame of the pneumatic tool, thereby driving the coupler link toward the punch arm. The punch arm rotates about a joint link with the frame of the pneumatic tool, thereby causing the punch to rotate about the joint link and mate with the fixed die. The punching mechanism may include four punch projections to simultaneously form four v-shaped cuts in the material positioned between the punch and the die.

Rebar cutting tool

A cutting head for a power tool. The cutting head includes a first jaw having a first blade mounting surface and a second jaw having a second blade mounting surface. The second jaw is rotatably coupled to the first jaw. The cutting head also includes a first blade removably coupled to the first blade mounting surface of the first jaw and a second blade removably coupled to the second blade mounting surface of the second jaw. A first cutting edge of the first blade is substantially co-planar with a second cutting edge of the second blade. During a cutting action, the first jaw and the second jaw rotate with respect to one another to bring the first cutting edge closer to the second cutting edge.
