A multi-function tool. The multi-function tool includes a first socket body having a first sidewall defining a first socket and a second socket, the first socket body being aligned with a first axis. The multi-function tool also includes a second socket body having a second sidewall defining a third socket, the second socket body being aligned with a second axis that is substantially parallel to the first axis. The first socket body is connected to the second socket body by a bridge.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention is directed to a rotary tool and, more specifically, to a pneumatic wrench that can be used as both a standard socket wrench and as a fastening tool for setting HI-LOK-type fasteners commonly used in the aviation industry. In a preferred embodiment, the wrench comprises a handle and a rotational member connected to the handle, said rotational member configured for exerting torque about an axis of rotation in one direction only. The wrench further comprises a hole extending through the rotational member along the axis of rotation. The hole has two ends each having female threads. One end has right-hand threads and the second end has left-hand threads. The tool further comprises socket adaptors having right-hand and left-hand male threads for attaching the adaptors to the wrench. Each socket adaptor also has a through hole that aligns with the hole in the rotational member. The holes allow a hex key to be inserted through the wrench so that the wrench can be used to fasten HI-LOK fasteners. The simple design of the tool results in a wrench that is easy to use and relatively inexpensive to manufacture. A preferred embodiment of the invention further comprises a method of using the wrench.

A hand tool for fastening a fastener, such as a screw. The hand tool comprises a handle and a rotatable fastening head connected to a first end of the handle, and engaged with a manually driven actuator. The hand tool further comprises a fixed fastening head connected to a second end of the handle, which is configured to apply a configurable fastening torque to the fastener The fixed fastening head is selectively pivotable with respect to the handle about an axis parallel to the center axis of the fixed fastening head.

A wrench has a driving head segment defining a portion of a receiving space of the wrench and including a first driving side of the wrench. The driving side includes a plurality of driving sections for abutting against the object. The plurality of driving sections includes surfaces aligned along an axis. The driving side includes a plurality of first recesses disposed alternatively among the plurality of first driving sections.

A socket assembly includes an outer socket, an inner socket mounted in the outer socket, and an intermediate socket mounted in the outer socket. The outer socket has a plurality of drive blocks and a plurality of retaining grooves. The inner socket includes a first base, a plurality of first driving sections, and a plurality of first openings. The intermediate socket includes a second base, a plurality of second driving sections, and a plurality of second openings. Thus, the inner diameter defined between the first driving sections is smaller than that defined between the second driving sections by 2 mm, and the inner diameter defined between the second driving sections is smaller than that defined between the drive blocks by 2 mm, so that the inner socket, the intermediate socket and the outer socket co-operate to operate three successive sizes of nuts.

A filter turning mechanism is attached to an engine in proximity to a filter (such as an oil filter), and may be used to install or remove a filter by turning the filter. The filter turning mechanism contacts a filter, and rotates the filter when the filter turning mechanism is rotated with a tool. One implementation of the filter turning mechanism includes an inner drive gear and a filter drive mechanism. The inner drive gear normally spins freely within the filter drive mechanism, but when pushed into the filter drive mechanism with a suitable tool such as a ratchet extension, the inner drive gear engages the filter drive mechanism, thereby causing rotation of the inner drive gear to rotate the filter drive mechanism as well, which in turn rotates the filter.
