An example hammer disclosed herein includes a handle. The hammer also includes a head comprising a neck. The neck has a tapered receiving surface and an end face. The hammer further includes a cap comprising a tapered mounting surface. The mounting surface is surrounding and engaging the receiving surface to permanently affix the cap to the neck. A first circumference of engagement at a first end of a length of engagement between the mounting surface and the receiving surface is greater than a second circumference of engagement at a second end of the length of engagement. The first end is farther from the end face of the neck than the second end.

Hammer
A hammer is provided that includes a handle, a head, a striking insert, and a claw. The hammer provides for a head with a keyed hole to couple to a keyed projection on a striking insert. The head also includes a dovetail projection that couples to the dovetail connection of the claw. Each component may comprise a different material. For example, the striking insert and the claw comprise one material, and the handle and the head comprise another material. In some embodiments, a slotted punch with a magnetic retainer creates a bore through the face of the head and the striking insert to support a fastener (e.g., a nail) within the head.
Pick Shovel
An apparatus for shifting and transferring materials is provided, wherein the apparatus has an elongated handle and a blade affixed to an end of the elongated handle. The blade has a bottom and at least two side edges. The elongated handle extends upwardly from the blade at an acute angle relative to the bottom of the blade. The acute angle is approximately 65° such that an angle of the elongated handle relative to vertical is approximately 25°. A cap can be adapted to secure the elongated handle to the blade.

An apparatus for shifting and transferring materials is provided, wherein the apparatus has an elongated handle and a blade affixed to an end of the elongated handle. The blade has a bottom and at least two side edges. The elongated handle extends upwardly from the blade at an acute angle relative to the bottom of the blade. The acute angle is approximately 65° such that an angle of the elongated handle relative to vertical is approximately 25°. A cap can be adapted to secure the elongated handle to the blade.

A multi-tool holding apparatus includes a first portion having a plurality of sides which define a circular channel that is able to be releasably secured around a fire hook. This release-ability is enabled by an opening on one side of this plurality of sides that is able to be screwed together, allowing for the circular channel defined to frictionally encompass the fire hook. This multi-tool holding apparatus also has a second portion having a neck coupled by a securing member, that forms a T-shaped component enabling secured frictional placement of a Halligan tool.
