Method and apparatus for turning pens
A complete pen mandrel turning assembly that may allow for simple, accurate, and repeatable centering of a pen mandrel shaft. The presently disclosed system may further include a tail stock assembly that is adjustable to allow the tail stock to be positioned right next to the pen blank to eliminate any chance of runout and other associated problems. Further, the present disclosure may provide a series of precision bushings for use with the pen turning assembly to securely hold a pen blank in the turning assembly while providing an accurate and precise turning reference for the pen turner.

Turbomachine component with surface repair
A component according to the disclosure may include a body having an aperture therein for receiving one of a turbomachine shaft or a lathe chuck, wherein in response to the body being coupled to the lathe chuck, the aperture is oriented substantially axially relative to an axis of rotation of the body with the lathe chuck; and a flange coupled to and in direct axial contact with the body, the flange including a surface that extends axially relative to the axis of rotation of the body, wherein the surface of the flange comprises a matingly engageable face configured to contact an axially aligned surface during operation of the component and having a sanding indentation thereon, wherein a surface roughness of the surface of the flange is less than a surface roughness of a remainder of the component.

Woodturning Gouge for the Fabrication of Bowls
The present invention surrounds a gouge for use in woodturning, particularly in the fabrication of wood bowls, wherein the gouge is configured to provide longer reach with decreased deflection. The decreased deflection allows safer and more efficient woodturning process, resulting in better quality woodturning products. The gouge includes an inner cutting profile which is offset upward from the center of the outer profile, thus providing more structural rigidity when extending the tool from a tool rest and into the concavity of a bowl being turned.

Handheld wood thread cutting tool
A handheld wood thread cutting tool with an elongated shank formed with a planar surface and including a first end and a second end with a length substantially longer than its width. The first end has a first wood thread cutting edge aligned substantially in parallel relative to a first vertical plane perpendicular to the planar surface and passing through the length of the elongated shank from the first end to the second end. The second end has a second wood thread cutting edge aligned substantially parallel to a second vertical plane perpendicular to the planar surface and running through the width of the elongated shank from a first side wall to a second side wall. A ball handle is affixed between the first and the second end.
