Method and system for increasing crushing strength of a timber panel
A system and method for increasing a crush strength of a panel. The system having a panel being made from side-grain wood, a bore that extends partly or completely through the panel, and a plug made from end-grain wood. Because end-grain wood has a significantly higher crush strength per square inch than side-grain wood, a topical crush strength of the panel can be increased through the use of the plug. The plug can further be provided with a hollow portion to be used with a thread stepped dowel comprising of a base section, at least one middle section, and a tip section, with each section being progressively smaller in circumference than the last. The at least one middle section of the threaded stepped dowel further comprises thread spiraling around the outer surface of the at least one middle section.
Methods and Compositions for Use in Glued-Wood Products
The present invention relates to biocide-composites providing high retention of biocides in glueline-treated glued-wood products that are hot-pressed or hot-pressed and block-stacked during manufacture.
METHOD OF GLUING A WOOD PRODUCT AND A GLUED WOOD PRODUCT
The present invention relates to a method of producing a glued wood product for use in construction, comprising the steps of: providing at least two wooden pieces each piece comprising at least one joining face; creating a groove in at least one of said joining faces where the groove is arranged between a pair of peripheral edges; applying adhesive onto at least one of the joining faces of at least a first of said two wooden pieces; arranging said first wooden piece so that the joining face which comprises the applied adhesive meets a corresponding joining face of said second wooden piece, wherein at least one of said two joining faces comprises said groove; pressing the two joining faces towards each other so that the adhesive is compressed between said two wooden pieces, and maintaining said pressing for a sufficient time to bond the wooden pieces to each other; wherein the applied pressing force is strong enough to force the wood tissue to collapse at a contact area until the pressure force is transmitted primarily through the adhesive, wherein said contact area is defined by the surface area whereat the two joining faces of said wooden pieces contact each other upon being pressed together.
Method of molding plant-based material and molded body
In order to provide a method of molding plant-based material to mold three-dimensional shape of cross section for relatively long plant-based material while maintaining the continuity of original cell/tissue of the plant-based material by means of simple equipment and process, we obtained a long plant-based material of high density and high strength by continuously giving compressing/drawing deformation to the component tissue of the plant-based material toward the center direction while extruding the plant-based material via the extruding die having a prescribed extrusion ratio and die angle for a relatively long plant-based material long in the fiber direction.
BOARD POSITIONING SYSTEM AND METHOD
Automated assembly of a pallet includes advancement of a subject board from a source location to a queue position. The subject board is moved from the queue position to a fastening position by a positioner. Advancement of the subject board occurs while the positioner is in motion between the queue position and the fastening position.
Rotary screw changing delivery system
Techniques are disclosed for remotely switching screw color or screw type feeding into a door assembly machine with an auto-hinge applicator. An apparatus having a turntable is supported on bearings and a framework. Each side of the turntable includes a screw hopper accessible via a rotary index. The screw hoppers receive a user input to make a screw selection. Upon receiving a selection, one of the hoppers indexes into position, allowing the correct screw to feed to the hinge applicator. Screw feed-hoses from screwdrivers on the hinge applicator are arranged to connect to a manifold below the screw hoppers. Screws drop from the hoppers into a manifold, at which point the screws are blown with compressed air through the feed-hoses to the screwdrivers on the hinge applicator. Screws can be reloaded into the screw hoppers when rotated in alignment with the hinge side of the door assembly machine.
A PRODUCTION PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURE OF A LAMINATE
This invention relates to a process for the division of an individual input source log into discrete longitudinal lengths for subsequent processing. The process comprises receiving an individual input source log, dividing the input source log into one or a plurality of output log portions of a predetermined length, wherein at least a portion of said output log portions resultant from said division are of a substantially equal or substantially constant or consistent longitudinal length, and wherein said substantially equal or substantially constant or consistent longitudinal length output log portions are procured as a feed stream of log material for a subsequent processing step. This process provides for the processing of logs and subsequent assembly into an end product formed from a composite of sticks derived from said processed logs.
Building panel
Building panels, such as floor panels or wall panels. The panels including a first mechanical locking system at respective parallel and opposite third and fourth edges, such as long edges, configured to cooperate for horizontal and vertical locking between two adjacent building panels, preferably by means of a folding motion. The panels further including a second locking system at respective parallel and opposite first and second edges, such as short edges, configured to cooperate for horizontal and vertical locking of two adjacent building panels. An upper edge portion of one of the third edge or fourth edge, preferably the third edge, includes a first lower lip portion configured to cooperate with a first upper lip portion of an upper edge portion of the other of the third and fourth edge of an adjacent panel when the third and fourth edges are arranged in locking engagement.
Stacked rolling vehicle track
A roller coaster track may comprise a laminate and a metal bearing layer. A method of manufacturing a roller coaster track may comprise manufacturing a laminate, manufacturing a metal bearing layer, and assembling the laminate and bearing layer. The bearing layer may be at least partially filled with grout. A method of repairing a wood roller coaster track may comprise removing a layer of laminate, and replacing the layer with a metal bearing layer.
