System for handling used packaging film in a food processing facility
A system for handling used packaging film in a food processing facility is provided. The system stores the used film in a refrigerated truck trailer at the food processing facility to prevent rotting, prior to transporting the film to a treatment facility where the film may be recycled.
Waste management system
A waste management system for plastic or other material floating on the surface and in the subsurface of a body of water. A shredding device will reduce the size of the particles of waste. Ocean water is removed by a drying device. The dried waste material is frozen to a temperature at or below minus fifty degrees Fahrenheit, using liquid nitrogen or other suitable means. The frozen waste material is then pulverized and ground into a powder. The powder may then be sprayed into a gas-filled chamber and heated. Temperature, pressure and humidity are maintained within the chamber for more than one minute. Microwave or other radiation and catalysts may be used to enhance the process of extraction. The processed material is then removed from the chamber. Carbon may be recycled or used as fuel by the ship. Water may be used by the ship or returned to the ocean.
APPARATUS FOR EXTRACTING TONER FROM TONER CARTRIDGES
The present invention relates to an apparatus (100) for extracting toner from a toner cartridge comprising an inlet opening (1), a first outlet opening (2) for discharging toner, and a second outlet opening (3) for discharging toner cartridges. The apparatus (100) also comprises: a toner cartridge opening device (10) configured to break a toner cartridge so that the toner may be removed from inside said toner cartridge; a separating device (20) connected to said opening device (10) for receiving broken toner cartridges from said opening device, and configured to separate toner from a respective toner cartridge broken by said opening device (10), said separating device (20) being further configured to separately convey the broken toner cartridge to said second outlet opening (3) and toner separated from said broken toner cartridge to said first outlet opening (2).
VITRIFICATION MATERIALS TO PARTIAL OXIDATION GASIFIER
A method of producing synthesis gas is provided. The method includes feeding a waste plastic feedstock into a partial oxidation gasifier. The waste plastic feedstock includes one or more vitrification materials. The method also includes partially oxidizing the waste plastic within the partial oxidation gasifier to produce the synthesis gas.
POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE ALLOY HAVING TALC
A method of forming a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) mixture with talc includes: providing a feed of PET (PET feed); providing a feed of talc (talc feed); mixing the feed of PET with the feed of talc in a mixer at a PET:talc ratio of about 3:1 to about 1:3 to form a PET/talc mixture; and providing the PET/talc mixture as output. A method of forming a Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) alloy having talc includes: providing a feed of the PET/talc mixture (PET/talc feed); providing a feed of PET (PET feed); mixing the feed of PET with the feed of PET/talc in a mixer to form a PET alloy having from about 1% (w/w) talc to about 50% talc (w/w); and providing the PET alloy as output.
CHEMICAL RECYCLING OF PLASTIC PURGE MATERIALS
Processes and facilities for using one or more PET-containing materials as a feedstock to a chemical recycling facility, and in particular a solvolysis facility, are provided herein. The PET-containing materials used as feedstock may comprise a quantity of PET-containing solidified purge material. The PET-containing solidified purge material may be derived from various processes and facilities, including PET reclaimer facilities, manufacturers of PET articles, and/or a polymer manufacturing facilities. For example, he purge material may be the solidified purge material from an extrusion and/or pelletization process. Such solidified purge materials are generally undesirable or unusable to mechanical PET recycling facilities, and typically are sent to landfills and/or incinerators. However, the processes and facilities described herein make use of the PET and other plastics present in these otherwise undesirable or unusable solidified purge materials.
Method and Reprocessing System for Reprocessing Plastic Waste Material, In Particular PET Waste Material
In a method for reprocessing plastic waste material, in embodiments PET waste material, the plastic waste material is dried by a flash dryer in a conveying line and then fed into a multi-shaft screw machine. In the multi-shaft screw machine, the dried plastic waste material is reprocessed. Pre-drying enables simple, energy-efficient, economical, reliable and effective reprocessing.
REDUCING SURFACE AND BULK CONTAMINATION IN PLASTIC
The present invention generally relates to a method of reducing contamination from plastics. The resulting purer plastic can be used in demanding applications.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING ARTIFICIAL TURF
A system and method for processing an artificial turf, and a product produced by the method, is provided. The method includes providing an artificial turf having an infill, separating at least a portion of the infill from the artificial turf, downsizing the artificial turf into artificial turf fragments and rotationally mixing and translating, by a melt system, the artificial turf fragments at a pressure less than a maximum predefined pressure to form a melt. The maximum predefined pressure is between about 0.08 - 20 bar.
