Casing layer comprises an ionomer blend of at least one ionomer and a color concentrate resin that is included in an amount of 3-10 wt. % of the ionomer blend. Cover layer is transparent and comprises thermoplastic/thermoset urethane composition. First outer coating layer is adjacent to cover layer and comprises clear water-borne or solvent-borne primer; and second outer coating layer is adjacent to first outer coating layer and comprises gold pearl primer, white sparkle primer, or combination thereof; third outer coating layer is adjacent to second outer coating layer and comprises a clear topcoat. Alternatively, second outer coating layer comprises matte topcoat, clear glossy topcoat, or combination thereof. In all embodiments, first outer coating layer and/or second outer coating layer may be colorless.
Product with an Array of Core Elements or Voids and Interposed Sheets and Methods for forming such a Product
A panel (20) having opposite surfaces (22, 24), and including sheets (42, 43) and elongated cores or voids (40). The cores/voids extend parallel along a first direction (X), are arranged mutually adjacent in a second direction (Y), and include an outermost core/void (40a) along a panel edge (26). Each sheet includes a medial portion (44, 45) between two adjacent cores/voids, a first lateral portion (46, 47) folded away from the medial portion over one adjacent core/void, and towards the second direction along the first surface, and a second lateral portion (48, 49) folded away from the medial portion over another adjacent core/void, and towards a negative second direction (−Y) along the second surface. The sheets include an enveloping sheet (43), the first lateral portion (47) thereof extending into a folded lateral region (50, 52) that at the panel edge is folded around the outermost core/void, and extends in the negative second direction back towards the second surface.
DESIGN OF A SUPPORT FOR A FIBROUS BLADE OR PROPELLER BLANK
A method for digitally designing a support with the shape of a fibrous blank obtained by three-dimensional weaving intended to form a fibrous preform of a turbine engine blade or propeller after shaping and compaction in a mold, includes providing a set of points representative of a face of the fibrous blank, the face being intended to form the root of the blade or the propeller and a portion of an aerodynamic profile of the blade or the propeller, generating a web connecting the points of the set of points, and digitally designing the support including at least an imprint of the fibrous blank having the shape of the generated web.
AUTOMATED LSP PROCESS EQUIPMENT SYSTEM FOR AERO-ENGINE BLADE
An automated laser shock peening (LSP) process equipment system for an aero-engine blade, including: a base, where a loading and unloading manipulator, working manipulator, reverse engineering mechanism, coating apparatus, and LSP apparatus are disposed; the loading and unloading manipulator is configured to grab a blade and place it on the reverse engineering mechanism, which includes a reverse engineering instrument and controller that are connected, the instrument can generate three-dimensional digital data of the blade, and the controller generates a working path for coating and LSP according to the data, and transmits the path to the working manipulator; the loading and unloading manipulator places the blade into the pallet, and the working manipulator drives the blade to a corresponding position according to the path. Independent locating and clamping systems of the pallet and the blade and the pallet and the manipulator fix a position of the blade relative to the manipulator.
Molded panels
Examples include a process comprising forming a molded panel that includes a fluid ejection die molded in the molded panel. The molded panel is formed with a mold chase and a release liner. The mold chase has a fluid slot feature that aligns with fluid feed holes of the fluid ejection die. The mold chase and release liner is released from the molded panel such that the molded panel has a fluid slot formed therethrough corresponding to the fluid slot feature of the mold chase, and the fluid slot is fluidly connected to the fluid feed holes of the fluid ejection die.
Method of molding a shell part of a wind turbine blade
The present invention relates to a method of molding a shell part of a wind turbine blade comprising the steps of providing a mold (64) comprising a mold cavity (66) with a root end (68) and an opposing tip end (70), arranging one or more preformed sheets (72a, 72b, 72c) in the mold cavity (66), wherein each preformed sheet comprises a mixture of fibre rovings (82) and a binding agent, wherein the fibre rovings are at least partially joined together by means of the binding agent, and injecting the one or more preformed sheets (72a, 72b, 72c) with a resin to mold the shell part. The present invention also relates to a shell part of a wind turbine blade obtainable by said method, to a preformed sheet for use in said method and to a method of manufacturing said preformed sheet.
Composite structure reinforcement utilizing thermal properties of forming elements
Forming systems and assemblies as disclosed herein comprise a composite material comprising a structural component and a resin component combined with the reinforcing component. A forming element is disposed within the composite material and has a coefficient of thermal expansion that is greater than that of the composite material. The forming element is positioned to provide a desired integral structural reinforcement and/or surface feature to the composite. The composite material may comprise one or more passages extending from a surface thereof to the forming element. The composite material may be cured by heat to take a set configuration and then allowed to cool. The cooling of the composite material and the forming element enables the forming element to contract relative to the composite material and become delaminated therefrom to facilitate easy removal, and thereby provide an improved method and assembly for making structural reinforcing features in composite structures.

Water-based hydrogel blend coating and method of application to elastomeric articles
A water-based hydrogel polymer coating and a method of application to natural rubber or other elastomeric latex products are provided. The water-based hydrogel polymer is mixed with a blend of at least one elastomeric material to provide a hydrogel polymer blend composition. The water-based hydrogel polymer blend composition is applied in a single application to an elastomeric article, such as gloves, without additional solvents in the polymer blend composition and without a separate acid or chemical priming step. The water-based hydrogel coating herein provides increased lubricity to facilitate improved wet and dry donning of the elastomeric article.
