PRESSURE VESSEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
In a pressure vessel formed by a fiber reinforced resin including reinforcing fibers and thermosetting resin impregnated in the reinforcing fibers, the fiber reinforced resin contains nylon particles dispersed in the thermosetting resin. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing a pressure vessel including dispersing nylon particles in molten thermosetting resin, impregnating reinforcing fibers with the molten thermosetting resin having the nylon particles dispersed therein, wrapping the reinforcing fibers impregnated with the molten thermosetting resin around a mandrel, heating the reinforcing fibers and the thermosetting resin to cure the thermosetting resin, and removing the mandrel from the thermosetting resin after curing the thermosetting resin.
Sucker rod
An improved sucker rod and the method of making is set forth herein. The improved sucker rod is used in well drilling to connect a pump present at a well casing to a motor and drive for a pump present at a well head. The method of making the improved sucker includes coating strands of sucker rod material with a mixture of epoxy and graphene platelets, bonding them together, and then extruding them through a pultrusion machine. The resulting improved sucker rod has increased flexibility, durability, corrosion resistance, and strength.
THERMOPLASTIC POLYAMIDE PARTICLES FOR TOUGHENING COMPOSITE MATERIALS
The present disclosure relates to thermoplastic copolyamide particles for toughening and/or reducing microcracking in composite materials, wherein the particles have a given particle distribution.
METHOD OF ACTIVATING ADHESIVES
A method of fastening a second object to a first object includes: providing the first object with an attachment surface; providing the second object; placing the second object relative to the first object, with a resin composition in between the attachment surface and the second object, wherein the resin composition has a resin having a first viscosity and being in a flowable state; pressing the first and second objects against each other and causing mechanical vibration to act on at least one of the objects until the resin composition experiences a vibration induced activation, which includes at least one of reduction of the viscosity of the resin compared to the first viscosity and activation of particles dispersed in the resin. The pressing and mechanical vibration are continued or repeated until the resin has at least partially cross-linked and the viscosity of the resin is increased compared to the first viscosity.
POLYMER COMPOSITION COMPRISING A THERMOPLASTIC POLYESTER
Polymer composition comprising a thermoplastic polyester having at least one 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol unit (A), at least one alicyclic diol unit (B) other than the 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol units (A), at least one terephthalic acid unit (C), wherein the ratio (A)/[(A)+(B)] is at least 0.05 and at most 0.75, said polyester being free of non-cyclic aliphatic diol units or comprising a molar amount of non-cyclic aliphatic diol units, relative to the totality of monomeric units in the polyester, of less than 5%, and with a reduced viscosity in solution (25? C.; phenol (50 wt. %):ortho-dichlorobenzene (50 wt. %); 5 g/L of polyester) greater than 70 mL/g; as well as an additional polymer selected from aromatic polyesters, aliphatic polyesters, polyester ethers, polyamides, polycarbonates, polyether block amides and polyurethanes.
PROCESS FOR OBTAINING AN ARTICLE FORMED FROM A THERMOPLASTIC MATRIC AND A FILLER OF TEXTILE MATERIAL
The invention relates to a method for obtaining an article formed from a thermoplastic matrix, said method providing for formulating inputs comprising at least one source of thermoplastic material and at least one source of filler; mixing and grinding said inputs; thermocompressing said ground mixture to obtain the article, the source of filler comprising articles to be recycled comprising at least one textile material.
