Reversible aminal gel compositions, methods, and use in three-dimensional printing
Systems and methods for producing a reversible hemiaminal or aminal gel composition for use in 3D printing, the method including preparing a liquid precursor composition, the liquid precursor composition operable to remain in a first liquid state at about room temperature, where the liquid precursor composition comprises: an organic amine composition; an aldehyde composition; a polar aprotic organic solvent; and a carbon nanomaterial; heating the liquid precursor composition to transition from the liquid state to a gel state; transitioning the gel state to a second liquid state; and 3D printing a solid carbon nanomaterial object comprising a solid printed gel from the second liquid state with a pre-determined orientation for the carbon nanomaterial.
Auxetic polyurethane and melamine foams by triaxial compression
Described herein is a process for preparing a foam (FA) with a Poisson's ratio in the range of from −0.5 to 0.3, the method including the steps of providing a foam (F1) with a flow resistance in the range of from 3000 to 8000 Pas/m, determined according to DIN EN 29053, and subjecting the foam (F1) to thermoforming including triaxial compression, wherein the foam (F1) is not reticulated prior to step (ii). Also described herein is the foam obtained or obtainable according to the process and the use of the foam as, for example, an energy absorbing device, preferably in protective gear, furniture, cushions, in cleaning devices with improved rinse-out behavior, in shoe soles, or as sealing, insulating or anchorage providing material for example used in earphones, ear plugs or dowels, or as acoustic material.
Use of expanded and hydrophobic popcorn to produce three-dimensional shaped parts
The invention relates to shaped parts produced from popcorn which has previously been hydrophobised with a polymer. This allows very light and flexible shaped parts to be produced.
Elastomeric additive manufacturing composition
A composition useful for additive manufacturing is comprised of a thermoplastic elastomer blended with an aliphatic polyketone, wherein the thermoplastic elastomer is a continuous phase having dispersed therein separated domains of polyketone. The composition is useful for additive printing methods employing heating and extrusion of the composition to form extrudates that are printed an article comprised of fused layers of the composition. The composition facilitates the formation of extrusion based elastomeric additive manufactured articles.
