Apparatus and method for folding
Discrete items are conveyed, preferably by a vacuum conveyor, in a machine direction toward a pair of rotating blades. A first intended target of folding, for instance a right portion of front and back panels of a diaper, travels up a ramp, raising the level of the intended target. A rotating blade passes under the intended target of folding, and folds the right portion of front and back panels of a diaper over. If desired, a second intended target of folding, for instance a left portion of front and back panels of a diaper, travels up a second ramp, raising the level of the intended target. A rotating blade passes under the second intended target of folding, and folds the left portion of front and back panels of a diaper over. The folded diaper then exits the folding system and travels downstream for further processing as desired.

DECORATIVE LAMINATES WITH CORE LAYER SUBJECTED TO SODIUM ALGINATE TREATMENT
A decorative laminate is manufactured in accordance with the method comprising preparing a decorative layer composed of a resin impregnated decorative sheet and preparing a core layer including an upper core sheet and a lowermost core sheet. The upper core sheet is prepared by impregnating a first paper with a resin. The lowermost core sheet is prepared by treating a second paper with sodium alginate to produce a sodium alginate treated paper and then impregnating the sodium alginate treated paper with resin. The decorative layer and the core layer are stacked. The decorative layer and the core layer are consolidated under heat and pressure to form the decorative laminate.
Folding machine for forming folded paper handkerchiefs
A folding machine for paper handkerchiefs is disclosed. The folding machine includes a longitudinal folding unit and a transverse folding unit, wherein the longitudinal folding unit executes a longitudinal folding procedure to a paper web to obtain a paper web with longitudinal folds, and the transverse folding unit receives the paper web with longitudinal folds from the longitudinal folding unit and cuts it into paper handkerchiefs before executing a transverse folding procedure to the paper handkerchiefs, thereby completing the folding process for paper handkerchiefs. After being folded longitudinally and transversely, the paper handkerchief is effectively reduced in size for packaging and is convenient for users to carry.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OF PACKAGING AND TABLEWARE FROM GRAIN PRODUCTS
A method for manufacturing a composite material for packaging and tableware is disclosed. The method comprises forming a sheet from a grain-based composition, either by puffing the composition between matrices in a puffing chamber or by extruding a plasticized composition through a die. The resulting sheet, which has a porous matrix, is then laminated on at least one side with a protective film. Lamination may be performed using hot, cold, or wet techniques. The final laminated composite sheet, having a sandwich-type structure, can be cooled, cut into blanks, and subsequently formed into various articles such as trays, plates, and containers.
