MULTILAYER FILM AND USE THEREOF AS A BARRIER EFFECT FOR TEXTILE APPLICATIONS
20230001737 · 2023-01-05 ·

A thermo-adhesive multilayer film based on thermoplastic polyurethane includes a barrier layer having a material with anti-dye migration properties selected from: ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetate, polyamides, cellulose derivatives, polyvinylidene chloride and combinations. The barrier layer is interposed between two layers, each having a mixture of a thermoplastic polyurethane with a compatibilizing agent selected from: co-polymers modified with maleic anhydride, co-polymers modified with epoxy groups, co-polymers containing hydroxyl groups and combinations thereof. A decorative multilayer film includes the thermo-adhesive multilayer film and a further decorative layer, which provides an aesthetic effect. A process of co-extruding the layers obtains the thermo-adhesive multilayer film and the subsequent bonding thereof with the decorative layer obtains the decorative multilayer film. The decorative multilayer film decorates substrates in the field of textiles, clothing, footwear and accessories. A finished decorated article includes a substrate on which the decorative multilayer film is applied.

A transparent laminate having a haze of less than 10% measured according to ASTM D1003-13, wherein the laminate comprises: i) at least a first substrate, ii) at least a second substrate and iii) an adhesive film between the first and second substrate, wherein the adhesive film is a cured, transparent rubber film obtained by curing an adhesive composition comprising: a) at least 80% by weight of at least one polyisoprene rubber, b) 0.5 to 15% by weight of at least one organic compound comprising at least two vinyl groups and c) 0.01 to 10% by weight of at least one peroxide compound.

Road sign covering system and method
09828730 · 2017-11-28 ·

A system and method for obscuring road signs by applying an opaque adhesive-backed film to the signs from a roll containing the film. The film and adhesive may be able to conceal sign details sufficiently with only one or two layers of film. The film may be pressure-applied with an adhesive selected so as to adhere sufficiently to the signs or to other layers of film without leaving adhesive or other residue on the signs once removed. The film may be perforated at predetermined intervals to facilitate separation, and the system additionally or alternatively may include a cutter to permit the user to separate the film wherever desired. Various polymers may be used for the film, including polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC), polypropylene, low density polyethylene (LDPE), polyester, polyolefin, or other coextruded (CoEX) polymer films. Similarly, various adhesives, including latex-, acrylic-, rubber-, or silicone-based adhesives may be used.

TRANSPARENT FIRE-RETARDANT COMPOSITE MATERIAL

A transparent or translucent composite material, an architectural apparatus comprising the transparent or translucent composite material, and a method of manufacturing the composite material are described. The transparent or translucent composite material having a core film comprising PET, a first and second ETFE film on the outer portion, adhered via an adhesive layer configured to be fire-retardant and/or light-absorbent. The core film may have on one or both sides a solar control layer configured to block light, provide color, or other properties to the composite material.

BLISTER FREE COMPOSITE MATERIALS MOLDING

A process for forming defect-free fibrous composite materials. More particularly, a process for forming blister-free fibrous composites without having to actively monitor or control blister formation during molding of a stack of plies, and to blister-free composite materials fabricated therefrom. Fibrous plies are coated with a dry, particulate binder without impregnating the plies with the binder. Gaps between fibers/tapes allow air to diffuse out of the stack without affecting the binder coating, thereby avoiding blister formation.

LAMINATING PROCESS EMPLOYING GRID-LIKE ADHESIVE APPLICATION
20170282529 · 2017-10-05 ·

The present invention relates to a process for laminating components with sheets, in which an adhesive is applied to the surface of the laminating sheet and/or of the component in a grid-like manner, so that, after the sheet and the component are joined, the adhesive is arranged between the sheet and the component, and the regions between the applied adhesive form a channel system that enables the removal of the air that is present between the component and the sheet. The invention further relates to a laminated molded part obtainable by the above-outlined process. The use of an adhesive grid provided between a component and a laminating sheet results in a reduction or prevention of air inclusions when the component is laminated with a laminating sheet.

WINDOW, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME

A window is provided to include a glass substrate, an adhesive layer on the glass substrate, a polymer layer between the glass substrate and the adhesive layer, the polymer layer having a surface adjacent to the adhesive layer, the surface being hydrophilic at a first temperature and being hydrophobic at a second temperature higher than the first temperature, and a protective layer on the adhesive layer. Thereby, when the protective layer is damaged, only the protective layer may be replaced without replacing a glass substrate.
