WOVEN PLYWOOD AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
20230046225 · 2023-02-16 ·

The present subject matter discloses a woven plywood and a method of manufacturing the same. The woven plywood can be created out of lower grade timber or logs than standard plywood. The woven plywood includes a first ply and a second ply. The first ply includes first vertical lamellas interwoven with first horizontal lamellas. The second ply includes second vertical lamellas interwoven with second horizontal lamellas. The lamellas are spaced in a manner that creates alternating openings in adjacent plies to that when they are laminated together, the overlapping sections of each plppy have an opening to receive the adjacent ply. Multiple plies are glued together into a sheet with appropriate thickness. The woven plywood is cold pressed to set the glue and hot pressed to cure the glue. The woven plywood is trimmed as per required length and width, and sanded for shipment.

The invention relates to a component having a plate-shaped or profile-shaped support and a decorative surface layer connected to the support, the surface layer being formed of thermally curable resin and comprising a three-dimensional surface structure that is produced by embossing and is irregular. According to the invention, in order to inexpensively obtain a decorative surface which has good wear resistance and largely prevents disturbing finger prints, the surface structure comprises regions that are alternately ordered and non-ordered and that are formed by a ribbed and/or grooved structure, ordered regions having parallel and/or quasi-parallel ribs and/or parallel and/or quasi-parallel grooves being interrupted by non-ordered regions or structural breaks, and the width of the respective rib or groove being in the range of from 0.5 μm to 100 μm. Furthermore, a method for manufacturing a component of this type using a corresponding embossing tool is disclosed and claimed.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SANDWICH PANEL COMPRISING A REINFORCED FOAM CORE
20180001593 · 2018-01-04 ·

A method for producing a sandwich panel with a reinforced foam core includes inserting rod-shaped, thermoplastic reinforcing elements into a thermoplastic foam material such that the reinforcing elements extend through the foam material. End regions of the reinforcing elements project out of the foam material. The foam material is thermoformed to form a reinforced foam core, wherein the end regions of the reinforcing elements are integrally formed by applying temperature and pressure to the cover surfaces of the foam material and are bonded to the foam material in a fused connection. A thermoplastic cover layer is laminated on either side by applying temperature and pressure to the reinforced foam core on the cover surfaces of the foam material in order to form the sandwich panel, wherein the cover layers are bonded to the reinforced foam core in a fused connection.

RADIO-FREQUENCY SEALABLE POLYMER AND ARTICLES THEREOF

The present invention relates to a reactor-grade copolyester composition having radio-frequency sealing capability. The present invention further relates to films and thermoformable packaging prepared from the reactor-grade copolyester composition and the methods for making such films and articles therefrom.

METAL REINFORCED BOARD
20230015309 · 2023-01-19 · ·

The invention relates to a hollow board material comprising a first sheet and a second sheet. A first and a second lath are arranged in parallel between the first sheet and the second sheet along opposite edges of the hollow board material. The first lath and the first sheet are attached to each other by means of a first metal gripping lamina which at least partly covers the first lath. The second lath and the first sheet are attached to each other by means of a second metal gripping lamina which at least partly covers the first lath. Optionally, the first lath and the second sheet are attached to each other by means of a third metal gripping lamina and optionally the second lath and the second sheet are attached to each other by means of a fourth metal gripping lamina. The metal gripping laminas have a first face and a second face which are opposed to each other. Each face comprises a plurality of sharp projections extending substantially perpendicular therefrom and into the laths or the sheets respectively. The metal gripping laminas thereby provides a hollow board material and increases the bending strength of the hollow board material. The invention further relates to a furniture comprising said hollow board material and method for producing said hollow board material.

Panel and methods for manufacturing panels

A method is provided for manufacturing a panel that includes a substrate and a top layer provided on the substrate. The top layer may include a decor film and a transparent film. The decor film may be a printed synthetic material film chosen from the group consisting of a vinyl-based film, a polyethylene based film, a polyurethane based film, and a polypropylene film. A print may be situated on an upper side of the printed synthetic material film. The transparent film may be a thermoplastic synthetic material film the material of which is chosen from the group consisting of polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polyurethane, and polypropylene. The method may involve providing the decor film and the transparent film on the substrate by performing a first press treatment at an increased temperature to form a package of the substrate, the decor film, and the transparent film. The first press treatment may be performed by a calendar device or a continuous press device. A structure may be formed in the thermoplastic synthetic material that forms a surface of the package by performing a second press treatment using a press device with a structured press element at a temperature that is lower than the increased temperature.
