COATING LIQUID FOR PRODUCING GAS BARRIER LAMINATE
20230048009 · 2023-02-16 · ·

Deterioration of gas barrier properties due to sedimentation of aggregates in a coating liquid is decreased or minimized. A coating liquid for producing a gas barrier laminate contains a carboxy group-containing polymer, polyvalent metal-containing particles, a high molecular weight dispersant with an acidic group, and an organic solvent, and has a pH in a range of 4 to 6 at 25° C.

RECYCLABLE LAMINATED POLYOLEFIN-BASED FILM STRUCTURES

A recyclable, laminated polyolefin-based film structure comprises two or more film plies laminated to each other. Each of the laminated film plies comprises one or more polyolefin-based films. The film structure has an energy cured coating layer or a two-part coating layer disposed on the outermost outward facing surface of the film structure and a printed ink layer on an interior surface of one of the polyolefin-based polyolefin layers. In certain embodiments, the outermost surface of the laminated polyolefin-based film structure has a melting temperature which is at least 100 degrees Celsius, and more preferably 150 or 180 degrees Celsius, higher than a melting temperature of the innermost surface of the laminated polyolefin-based film structure.

Inflation and sealing device with web control

The present disclosure is directed to a web control guide for an inflation and sealing assembly of a protective packaging formation device for inflating a web material into a chain of inflated cushions. The web control guide is positioned along a material path at a transverse spacing from a first compression element and constrains a first thickness of the material path measured normal to the longitudinal and transverse directions of the material path. The transverse spacing and constrained thickness dimension are sufficiently small to prevent transverse movement of the flexible material towards the first compression element to avoid excessive heating of the web material outside a sealing zone.

Multilayer stretch films and methods thereof

Embodiments disclosed herein include multilayer films having a cling layer, a core layer, and a release layer, wherein the cling layer comprises a propylene interpolymer and the core layer comprises a core layer polyethylene composition.

Biodegradable Multi-Layer Packaging Element, Such as a Foil or Wrap, for a Food Product, Packaging Unit with Such Packaging Element, and Method for Manufacturing Such Packaging Element
20230040636 · 2023-02-09 ·

The present invention relates to a biodegradable multi-layer packaging element, such as a foil or wrap, for a food product, a food packaging unit comprising such multi-layer and a method for manufacturing such biodegradable multi-layer, with the multi-layer comprising: —an inner cover layer comprising an amount of a biodegradable aliphatic polyester; —a first intermediate layer of a biodegradable material for connecting and/or sealing adjacent layers; —a functional layer comprising a vinyl alcohol polymer; —a second intermediate layer of a biodegradable material for connecting and/or sealing adjacent layers; and —an outer cover layer comprising an amount of a biodegradable aliphatic polyester.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FOOD INDICATOR

The present application relates to a method for manufacturing an indicator for food that can visually check the quality change in food in a package state, an indicator for food manufactured therefrom, and a method for checking the storage status of food using the same. The manufacturing method of an indicator for food of the present application includes bonding a first film, on which an indicator layer including a pH-sensitive indicator is formed on one surface thereof, and a second film, on which an adhesive layer is formed on one surface thereof, so that the indicator layer of the first film and the adhesive layer of the second film can face each other.

FILMS AND SHEETS HAVING MICROLAYERS AND NANOLAYERS INCLUDING RECYCLED CONTENT

A polymeric film, sheet, or extrusion coating is formed as a multilayered structure having at least one A layer and at least one B layer. The polymeric film, sheet, or extrusion coating is able to include at least 30% recycled content resin while also exhibiting improved stiffness and strength relative to films with purely virgin polymers. One embodiment of the present invention further presents improved oxygen barrier properties relative to existing films, sheets, or extrusion coatings. Due to the strong structural properties, the polymeric film, sheet, or extrusion coating allows for the inclusion of recycled content into applications where recycled content has previously not been able to be included, such as flexible food, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics packaging.

Low adsorption sealant film, laminated body, and packaging bag

The invention provides a sealant film that is less likely to adsorb components formed of various types of organic compounds, has excellent heat sealing characteristics at 140° C., while having low heat sealing strength at 100° C. and being less likely for heat sealing layers to adhere to each other even when the film is used as a packaging bag and the content thereof is warmed in boiling water. The sealant film has at least one heat sealing layer consisting of a polyester component, wherein a heat sealing strength of the heat sealing layer being heat sealed to another heat sealing layer at 100° C. and 0.2 MPa for 2 seconds is 0-5 N/15 mm and at 140° C. and 0.2 MPa for 2 seconds is 8-30 N/15 mm, and a film density including all layers is 1.20 or more and less than 1.39.

RECYCLABLE MULTILAYER FILMS AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME

Recyclable films and methods of making the recyclable films are provided. The recyclable films include a low melt index blend of super hexene LLDPE and bimodal HDPE and an anti-stick additive having a melting point of at least about 115° C. The recyclable films have a heat resistant coating on the film surface that prevents the film from softening and sticking to heat seal jaws during the production process. The recyclable films also have improved tear strength and melt strength such that instances of tears or break offs during the machine direction orientation portion of the production process are significantly reduced or eliminated.
