RECORDING MEDIUM, RECORDED MATTER, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE MEDIUM AND THE MATTER
A recording medium, including: an ink-receiving layer configured to receive an ink for inkjet recording; and a transparent sheet having a total luminous transmittance of 50% or more, wherein the recoding medium has a layered structure in which the transparent sheet and the ink-receiving layer are sequentially stacked, and the ink-receiving layer includes a gap-absorption-type ink-receiving layer including a composition including at least inorganic fine particles and polyvinyl alcohol having a weight-average polymerization degree of 2,000 or more and 5,000 or less and a saponification degree of 70 mol % or more and 90 mol % or less.
COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRE-IMPREGNATED DECORATIVE BASE PAPER COMPRISING BIOPOLYMER NANOPARTICLES
A pre-impregnated decorative base paper for decorative coating materials, comprising biopolymer nanoparticles.
Multizone On-Demand Printable Construct
A laminated construct such as a ticket or game piece includes an internal on-demand thermally printable layer hidden between substantially opaque substrates. One of the substrates is a metallized film and the other substrate is a direct thermal print medium. The construct can be arranged in various ways including an arrangement for presenting some thermally printed information for immediate viewing and other thermally printed information that is temporarily hidden from view beneath the metallized film. The arrangements include arranging the metallized film as a plurality of island that are individually peelable apart from the direct thermal print medium for revealing the temporarily hidden information.
MULTI-PLY FIBROUS STRUCTURE-CONTAINING ARTICLES
Articles, for example multi-ply fibrous structure-containing articles such as multi-ply sanitary tissue products, containing two or more fibrous structure plies, and more particularly to multi-ply articles containing two or more fibrous structure plies having a plurality of fibrous elements wherein the articles exhibit improved bulk and absorbent properties compared to known articles and methods for making same, are provided.
PAPER AIMED AT FORMING A U-STRAW
The invention relates to drinking U-straws and more particularly to a paper for manufacturing drinking U-straws, which is environmental friendly, bio-degradable and is able to be formed in the shape of a bent straw with an accordion-like structure at the bend. The paper has high water resistance as well as high strength and elongation properties compatible with the intended use. In particular, the paper for forming a U-straw includes: •between 10 and 50 dry wt % of first fibers having a length of between 1.4 mm and 2.5 mm; •between 40 and 80 dry wt % of second fibers having a length of between 0.3 mm and 0.8 mm; and•between 1 and 6 dry wt % of a sizing agent.
Detectable dust-proof paper
A detectable dust-proof paper is provided. The detectable dust-proof paper includes a detected layer, a first plastic layers, and a first ink-receptive layer. The detected layer has two opposite surfaces. The detected layer includes at least one metal which is selected from the group consisting of: aluminum, copper, nickel, iron, and a mixture or an alloy thereof. The first plastic layer is disposed on one of the two surfaces of the detected layer. A material of the first plastic layer is selected from the group consisting of: a polyolefin, a polyester, a polyamide, and any combination thereof. The first ink-receptive layer is disposed on the first plastic layer. The first ink-receptive layer contains an inorganic ink-absorption material ranging between a value larger than 0 wt % and 75 wt %.
Metallic paper, printed matter, and image forming method
Metallic paper for electrophotography is provided. The metallic paper comprises a substrate, a metallic luster layer over the substrate, and a polyester at a surface of the metallic paper. A ratio B/A is 0.90 or less, where A and B respectively represent peak area A and a peak area B in an infrared spectrum of the metallic paper obtained by an ATR method with a crystal of Ge, an incident angle of 45°, and one time of reflection. The wavenumber range of peak area A ranges from 1709.586 to 1741.406 cm.sup.−1, the wavenumber range of peak area. B ranges from 1630,519 to 1670.052 cm.sup.1, and a baseline wavenumber range of the peaks ranges from 1593.878 to 1850.364 cm.sup.−1.
POROUS POLYMER SECURITY FEATURE
A system and associated method, the system including an item including a porous polymer layer including a polymer material capable of absorbing a liquid, the polymer material having an index of refraction that is the same or substantially the same as an index of refraction of the liquid, and a substrate layer, where the porous polymer layer is disposed on the substrate layer, and a liquid source comprising the liquid, where the porous polymer layer appears transparent in response to absorption of the liquid from the liquid source by the porous polymer layer.
Absorbent paper products having unique physical strength properties
The present disclosure provides for a paper product. The paper product has: (a) from about 20% to about 90% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the paper product of a refined soft wood pulp fiber mixture, (b) pulp fibers selected from the group consisting of hard wood fibers, non-wood fibers, recycled fibers, synthetic polymer fibers, bleached eucalyptus kraft fibers, and combinations thereof; and, (c) not more than about 10% by weight moisture.
