Systems and methods are disclosed to produce a books in which interior staples are hidden. One disclosed example apparatus includes a sensor to detect a position of a book being produced on a binding line. The example book includes signatures coupled by a fastener. The fastener separates a first signature portion from a second signature portion of a first signature. The example apparatus also includes an adhesive dispenser to dispense adhesive to at least one of on or adjacent the fastener to couple the first signature portion and the second signature portion along a first fold adjacent the fastener. The example apparatus also includes a controller to cause the adhesive dispenser to dispense adhesive based on the position of the book detected by the sensor.

There is provided a sheet processing apparatus with improved visibility of a sheet bundle discharged without post-processing thereto. The CPU circuit receives the conveyed sheet, drives and controls the sheet-returning paddle, the rack part, the rear end regulation part, the alignment plate and the like and forms sheet bundle comprising of a plural number of sheets as received. The book binding device includes a section for forming a cut in the end side of a conveyed sheet, a control section for controlling the section for forming a cut, and a selection section for selecting each sheet for the presence/absence of a cut to be formed by the section for forming a cut, wherein the control section controls the formation of a cut by the section for forming a cut based on the presence/absence of the formation of a cut selected by the selection section, and then the mixture of sheets in which cuts are formed and sheets in which cuts are not formed are bundled and bound to complete a booklet.

The present invention comprises a sheet bundle conveying apparatus which conveys sheets stacked at a stack portion to a storing portion at the downstream side including a first conveying member which conveys sheets at the stack portion by a predetermined distance, a second conveying member which performs relay conveyance of the sheets conveyed by the first conveying member by the predetermined distance as being set to have a higher moving speed than that of the first conveying member, and a driving portion which drives the first conveying member and the second conveying member.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a sheet bundle conveying apparatus capable of discharging a sheet bundle from a processing tray where a binding process is performed toward the downstream side in right posture to a right position. The present invention comprises a sheet bundle conveying apparatus which conveys sheets stacked at a stack portion to a storing portion at the downstream side including a first conveying member which conveys sheets at the stack portion by a predetermined distance, a second conveying member which performs relay conveyance of the sheets conveyed by the first conveying member by the predetermined distance as being set to have a higher moving speed than that of the first conveying member, and a driving portion which drives the first conveying member and the second conveying member.
