A book made up of pages is described. At least some of the pages contain both space for manually-created visual content, and instances of preprinted indexing target symbols. Each of the indexing target symbol instances has at least a portion within one inch of three unbound page edges. When the book is closed, the instances of each particular indexing target symbol are in a substantially collinear stack that is substantially perpendicular to the faces of the pages.

A method of reusing a notebook provides a notebook having a synthetic-paper page. The method also provides a thermochromic ink pen which, when used to write on the synthetic paper page, leaves thermochromic ink markings. The method further provides a moisture carrier configured to have a liquid diffused therein. The moisture carrier is configured to erase the thermochromic ink markings from the synthetic-paper page by contacting the thermochromic ink markings when the moisture carrier is moist. The method then writes with thermochromic ink on at least a portion of the synthetic-paper page. Liquid is diffused in the moisture carrier, and the portion of the synthetic-paper page having the thermochromic ink is wiped with the moist moisture carrier, such that the thermochromic ink is erased from the synthetic-paper page.

Disclosed herein are devices and methods for an interactive book configured to enhance a user's vocabulary. In some embodiments, an interactive paper-based book comprises a back cover comprising a plurality of touch sensors and an audio module and a plurality of paper pages that are stacked together on top of each other. In some embodiments, each of the pages comprises a grid array of images associated with a plurality of words. In some embodiments, the grid array of images on the plurality of pages are aligned with the plurality of touch sensors on the back cover. In some embodiments, each of the pages and a set of audio files for each page are configured to be activated using a page button corresponding to the respective page. In some embodiments, the page buttons are located on one or more portions of the book. In some embodiments, the audio module is configured to play one or more sounds associated with an image on an activated page when the user touches the image on the activated page.

The watermarked paper of the hinged laminate body is provided with: an inner watermarked paper section that is arranged between the upper transparent layer and the hinge layer; and an outer watermarked paper section that is provided to the hinge portion so as to be arranged contiguously with the inner watermarked paper section.

In some configurations, the attachment systems include a device with at least one panel having a flap and a swing clip on a free edge thereof. The attachment systems also may include at least one attachable device having at least one panel with a notch formed on a free edge thereof. The attachable devices may be attached to each other in a configuration where the notch is aligned with the flap and the swing clip is in a closed position such that the notch and the flap are nested within the swing clip.
