A device and method control dispensing of adhesion-increasing agent of a rail vehicle. A measuring unit determines the vehicle speed and/or the acceleration in the vehicle longitudinal direction of the entire rail vehicle. A calculation unit ascertains the ratio of the wheel speed or wheel rotational speed of the wheel and the speed of the rail vehicle and/or the ratio of the wheel acceleration and the acceleration in the longitudinal direction of the rail vehicle and/or the ratio between the target torque and the actual torque acting on the wheel; a change in ratio is used to control dispensing of the adhesion-increasing agent.

The present invention relates to a multi-part track wheel with a wheel tyre, with a wheel rim and with at least two elastic bodies arranged between the wheel tyre and the wheel rim, via which the wheel tyre is supported spring elastically on the wheel rim and which are arranged distributed in the circumferential direction around the rotary axis of the track wheel, wherein the elastic bodies are clamped between an inner circumferential surface of the wheel tyre and an outer circumferential surface of the wheel rim and in this case abut with their outer side assigned to the wheel tyre on the inner circumferential surface of the wheel tyre and with their inner side assigned to the wheel rim on the outer circumferential surface of the wheel rim and an elastic body for use in a track wheel. The track wheel according to the invention designed according to the one-ring concept provides an optimised low spring constant and the elastic body as an essential component for the spring properties allows the manufacture of a one-ring track wheel with optimised usage properties. This is achieved in that the elastic bodies are locked against a movement in the circumferential direction by forming elements provided in each case on the inner circumferential surface of the wheel tyre and/or on the outer circumferential surface of the wheel rim.

A system for reprofiling a wheel set of a railway vehicle allows the center of rotation of the wheel set to move relative to supporting rollers. A cutting tool used to reprofile the wheel profile on a wheel set is moved relative to the center of rotation of the wheel set to maintain a constant distance between the center of rotation and the cutter. The rollers are maintained in a fixed position during the cutting process. The system avoids mechanically forcing a constant location of the wheel set relative to the center of rotation.

A method for actuating a track conditioning unit or a wheel flange lubricating system of a rail vehicle. The track conditioning unit provides auxiliary agent to sub-regions of a rail on which the rail vehicle is travelling, in order to increase friction between the wheel and the rail. A wheel flange lubricating system provides a fluid to a wheel sub-region of the rail vehicle or to a rail sub-region, in order to reduce friction between the wheel and the rail. A relative movement between a railcar body and a bogie of the rail vehicle is detected using path measurement, in order to detect a bend in the track. Based on the path measurement, the track conditioning unit or the wheel flange lubricating system is actuated in a targeted manner according to the bend, such that the auxiliary agent or fluid is applied in a resource-saving yet effective manner.

WHEELSET BEARING FOR A RAIL VEHICLE, AND RAIL VEHICLE

A wheelset bearing for a rail vehicle includes a rolling bearing assembly (7) with three bearing rings (4, 8, 9), specifically two inner rings (4, 8) provided for connection to a wheelset shaft (2) and one outer ring (9) provided for connection to a housing (6). The rolling bearing assembly (7) is designed as a quadruple-row angular contact ball bearing in an O arrangement, and two rolling element rows (16, 17) are provided contacting a first inner ring (4) in order to absorb axial forces in a first direction and two rolling element rows (18, 19) are provided contacting a second inner ring (8) in order to absorb forces in the opposite axial direction. A rail vehicle with such an arrangement is also provided.

A rail wheel assembly is disclosed herein that is configured to operate on rail networks with multiple railway track gauges. In various embodiments, the dual gauge rail wheel assembly may comprise an axle extension component that is affixed to an axle of a railway vehicle and configured to receive a sliding wheel. The axle extension component may comprise sets of holes or slots located at different positions and corresponding to different railway track gauges. The sliding wheel may be configured to slide axially on the axle extension component between the different sets of holes or slots on the axle extension component. When holes or slots on the sliding wheel and the axle extension component are aligned, locking pins or a locking key may be inserted into the aligned holes or slots to secure the sliding wheel in a position corresponding with a particular railway track gauge.

A load handling device is disclosed for lifting and moving storage containers stacked in a grid framework structure having first and second sets of parallel rails or tracks. The load handling device includes: a body mounted on first and second sets of wheels arranged to engage with the tracks. A direction-change assembly is arranged to raise or lower the first set of wheels and or lower or raise the second set of wheels with respect to the body to engage and disengage the wheels with the tracks. The direction-change assembly includes a linkage-set having a series of members arranged between a traveller and a fixed brace, wherein the traveller is arranged to move under an applied force to cause the wheels to raise or lower.
