Methods and systems for cylinder diagnosis
Systems and methods are provided for diagnosing cylinders. In one example, a system includes an engine having a plurality of cylinders coupled to a crankshaft, a crankshaft speed sensor, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a first output from the crankshaft speed sensor during nominal engine operation, receive a second output from the crankshaft speed sensor during engine operation where a fueling disturbance is introduced to a cylinder of the plurality of cylinders, indicate that the cylinder is unhealthy responsive to a difference between the first output and the second output being less than a threshold difference, and adjust one or more operating parameters of the engine in response to the indication.

ARRANGEMENT FOR DRIVING A LOCOMOTIVE HAVING VARIOUS ENERGY-PROVISION SYSTEMS
An arrangement for driving a locomotive has various energy-provision systems. The locomotive contains a main energy-provision system as the main system and a drive system. Energy provided by the main system is supplied to the drive system as drive power and is used by the drive system for moving the locomotive. A railroad car carries at least one additional energy-provision system as an auxiliary system. The auxiliary system is used in a manner which is temporally offset from the main system in order to supply drive power to the drive system. Components which can be used by both the main system and the at least one auxiliary system are implemented only once and are used jointly by both the main system and the auxiliary system. Components which are used exclusively by the auxiliary system are arranged on the railroad car.
Aircraft propulsion system
An aircraft propulsion system includes at least first and second electrical generators, each being configured to provide electrical power to a respective first and second AC electrical network. The system further comprises at least first and second AC electrical motors directly electrically coupled to a respective AC network and coupled to a respective propulsor, and a DC electrical network electrically coupled to the first and second AC networks via respective first and second AC to DC converters, and to a further electrical motor, the further electrical motor being coupled to a propulsor.

Energy Recovery System for Diesel Locomotives
An energy efficient locomotive according to the disclosure utilizes a companion generator operably associated with a prime mover engine and electrically independent from a main generator. The companion generator is connected directly to a DC to DC regulator and is configured to supply a DC output to the DC to DC regulator for providing power for non-propulsion electrical devices when the locomotive is coasting or braking and the prime mover engine and main generator are not providing electrical power to the traction motor.
Systems for a turbocharger
Various methods and systems are provided for a radial turbocharger. In one example, the turbocharger comprises a turbine case housing a turbine wheel and a compressor case housing a compressor wheel, the turbine case including a vaneless turbine nozzle integrated into the turbine case, a bearing case surrounding a shaft connecting the turbine wheel to the compressor wheel and arranged between the turbine case and compressor case, a plurality of long bolts arranged around a circumference of the turbine case, and a plurality of slots arranged around a circumference of the turbine case, a slot length of each slot extending in a radial direction and adapted to receive a dowel pin having a diameter smaller than the slot length, where each dowel pin, via a corresponding slot, couples the bearing case to the turbine case.

METHOD FOR MONITORING THE OPERABILITY OF A VEHICLE, CONTROLLER FOR A DRIVE OF A VEHICLE, DRIVE HAVING SUCH A CONTROLLER, AND VEHICLE HAVING SUCH A DRIVE
A method for monitoring an operability of a vehicle, the method including the steps of: traveling a route, which is defined, with the vehicle; detecting at least one power parameter of the vehicle, the at least one power parameter being characteristic for a power of a drive of the vehicle; comparing, in a first comparison, the at least one power parameter with historical data regarding the route traveled; and evaluating the operability of the vehicle based on the first comparison.
