Method and apparatus for using components of a vehicle. The apparatus includes a computing device and a memory for instructions and an interface for components of the vehicle. The computing device is designed to control the components of the vehicle when the instructions are executed by the computing device. A first component is required for an automated driving mode of the vehicle and a second component are designed in a redundant manner with respect to one another. At least one load of the second component for an automated driving mode is either switched on or at least partially switched off depending on a condition. The condition characterizes the need for redundant operation of the first component and of the second component.

The switch element also has a set of longitudinal abutments engaging, on the one hand, with the hinge in order to adjust the relative angular orientation of the element and, on the other hand, with a pivoting bottom rod providing the connection to and the alignment with an identical switch element arranged symmetrically on the opposite side of the switch. The disclosure also relates to a track switchgear comprising the assembly of such elements and a method for transporting passengers along a track provided with said track switchgear.

A simulation model is provided for the technical system and a fault situation is set by means of setting values of the simulation model, wherein the setting values are assigned to the fault situation. The technical system is simulated by means of the simulation model, wherein a simulated temporal profile of the measurement variable is captured. The simulated temporal profile is compared with the temporal profile of the measurement variable of the switch drive, wherein the fault situation is assigned to the detected fault on the basis of the comparison.

A switch mechanism serves for changing over the path traveled by a rail vehicle on a track. The switch mechanism has an electric motor, the rotational movement of which is converted into a linear movement by way of a spindle rod or toothed rack. Part of the mechanical system is usually also a coupling, which prevents excessive force from being exerted on the track. A flexible adaptation for the test slider of a switch drive enables complete testing of the switch drive on a test bench. The switch drive can be tested in the final state because the test slider does not need to first be removed and then reinstalled only after testing. Separate testing of the test slider in terms of its function and its high voltage strength is therefore no longer necessary. After the testing, no additional steps need to be carried out on the switch drive.
