Braking apparatus for a children's kick scooter
A braking apparatus for stopping a children's kick scooter is described. The braking apparatus comprises a hand-held remote control to transmit a command signal when a radio-frequency (RF) signal transmitter is activated. The braking apparatus also comprises a remote control signal receiver located on the children's kick scooter to receive the command signal and convert it to an electric current. The braking apparatus additionally comprises a linear actuator to receive the electric current. The linear actuator comprises a linear actuator electric motor and a linear actuator shaft. The linear actuator electric motor is activated by the electric current and moves the linear actuator shaft from a first position to a second position. The braking apparatus further comprises a brake system to press a metal plate against a rear wheel of the children's kick scooter, thereby stopping the children's kick scooter when the linear actuator shaft is in the second position.

Straddled vehicle
A straddled vehicle has a plurality of modes for engine brake controlling. The straddle vehicle includes a mode setter that selectively sets one of at least a normal mode and a first reduced mode that are included in the plurality of modes. An engine controller controls an electronic throttle valve and a fuel injector so that a torque of an internal combustion engine is equal to a target torque. When the torque of the internal combustion engine is less than zero while in the first reduced mode, an engine brake controller corrects the target torque by adding a first additive torque to the target torque. The first additive torque is set so as to be smaller as an amount of operation of an accelerator grip becomes larger so that an opening of the electronic throttle valve increases as the amount of operation of the accelerator grip increases.

ELECTRIC ASSIST VEHICLE WITH INTEGRATED SPEED CONTROL
An electric assist vehicle is described, which may have a cargo area, a drivetrain including an external crankset and an electric motor, and a speed control system. The speed control system automatically limits the maximum operating speed of the vehicle based, at least in part, on a load mass (e.g., a gross weight) of the vehicle and/or the cargo area of the vehicle. Limiting the speed includes, for example, reducing the power of the electric motor and/or increasing a braking force on the vehicle.

Controller, control method, and brake system
A controller and a control method are capable of improving safety by automatic emergency deceleration action while suppressing a motorcycle from falling over. One arrangement also obtains a brake system that includes such a controller. In the controller, the control method, and the brake system, a control mode that causes the motorcycle to take the automatic emergency deceleration action is initiated in response to trigger information generated in accordance with peripheral environment of the motorcycle. In the control mode, automatic emergency deceleration that is deceleration of the motorcycle generated by the automatic emergency deceleration action is controlled in accordance with a lean angle of the motorcycle.
