Additive manufactured water resistant closed-cell lattice structure for marine hull cavities
Apparatus and associated methods relate to using an additive (material deposition) process to incrementally form a closed-cell lattice structure formed as a unitary body in the shape of a marine hull cavity, the unit cells of the closed-cell lattice structure are substantially hollow. In an illustrative example, a method may include (a) forming a closed-cell lattice structure through additive manufacture, the hull cavity material may be bonded to an upper manufactured liner and a lower manufactured liner through lamination or mechanical connection. Unit cells of the closed-cell lattice structure may include hollow voids filled with gases. Providing the additive manufactured closed-cell lattice structure with a unitary body and hollow voids to trap gases may further advantageously promote the buoyancy and reduce the degeneration of a marine hull.
Flange for Pressure Vessel with Undercut Fillet
A flange for a pressure vessel includes a rim, a sealing seat, and an undercut fillet. The rim has an annular surface for abutting an annular end of a cylindrical wall of the pressure vessel. The sealing seat has a cylindrical surface for abutting an inner surface of the cylindrical wall of the pressure vessel nearby the annular end. The undercut fillet is disposed between the rim and the sealing seat. A concave surface of the undercut fillet extends the annular surface of the rim radially inward and then curves back outward to intersect the cylindrical surface of the sealing seat. The undercut fillet of the flange helps distribute stress produced from a pressure differential between the inside and outside of the pressure vessel.
Autonomous maritime container system
The present invention provides an apparatus, method and system for utilizing commercial cargo containers. The present invention utilizes containers made autonomous by coupling a container with a detachable propulsion system, having a motor and navigation and steering controls, permitting the rapid, controlled, efficient and safe delivery of cargo containers individually by water. Ballast units, deployment systems and control via remote units are also disclosed. The containers, utilizing their inherent buoyancy, can move autonomously according to a preplanned or remote controlled route to a specific location.

Magnetic coupling shade system for boats
Systems and methods are provided for a magnetic coupling shade system for boats. The magnetic coupling shade system features a sheet of material that includes magnetic portions coupled with magnets disposed in locations of a boat. The locations of the boat include any of the hull, deck, superstructure, hardtop, or any other suitable surface of the boat. Magnets located on the hull are located within the interior of the hull. The sheet extends from the top to either or both of the port and starboard sides. The sheet can include a variety of materials, and a window portion for viewing through the sheet. In some embodiments, the window portion includes an entirety of the sheet with the magnetic portions attached to opposite edges of the window portion. The sheet is configured to be detached from the magnets and either suspended overhead or rolled upward when not in use.
Platform for floating type offshore structure having protrusion member and semi-submersible offshore structure including the same
A platform for a semi-submersible floating type offshore structure according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a main body which is installed on the sea and has an arrangement structure in which a plurality of pontoons is combined to form a plurality of polygonal shapes; and a protrusion member connecting unit which extends from each corner of the main body and connects a protrusion member outwardly protruding from the main body to the main body.
Accommodation ladder fixing device for pilot
The objective of the present invention is to provide an accommodation ladder fixing device, which more firmly and safely fixes, to an exterior wall of a ship, an accommodation ladder temporally provided so as to allow pilots to safely board and disembark the ship. That is, the present invention comprises: a housing (10), which has a fixing plate (13) formed at the rear end thereof to be mounted on the accommodation ladder (100), has a fixing box (11), of which the front side is opened, formed on the fixing plate (13), and has hinge shafts (15) formed at both sides of a through-hole (14) of the fixing box (11); an attachment/detachment means (20), which has a movable block (21) insertively provided so as to be movable forward and rearward to/from the fixing box (11), and a magnetic member (22) attached/detached to/from the exterior wall of a hull (200) and provided at the front end of the movable block.
USING PLASTIC TO CREATE A FLOATING PLATFORM
Example implementations include a system and method of using plastic from bodies of water and creating a floating platform by collecting plastic from a body of water, cleaning the collected plastic, melting and compacting the plastic, molding a plurality of hexagonal blocks from the compacted plastic, stacking the plurality of hexagonal blocks, wherein a system of springs and an energy storage device is provided between each of the plurality of hexagonal blocks, and coating the stacked blocks with a non-toxic material. Through the use of various onboard functionalities, energy may be generated to regulate temperature and provide electricity, oxygen may be supplied, and water may be purified.
MODULAR HYDROFOIL SYSTEM FOR WATERCRAFT
A hydrofoil system for a hydrofoil equipped watercraft with cooperating fuselage portion that have tapered sections. The tapered sections are configured to form an overlapping stacked wedge within an inner passageway of a collar so that the collar frictionally engages the stacked tapered sections when the first fuselage portion and the second fuselage portion are drawn together longitudinally.
