Intumescent Cover or Joiner
20230173314 · 2023-06-08 ·

A cover or joiner is configured to cover the respective channels and/or joins between adjacent thermal insulation panels of a structural fire protection system, such as for marine vessel deckheads and bulkheads. The cover or joiner can include an elongate member, such as a strip, that includes intumescent insulation, and optionally can include one or more fastener arrangements, such as use of holes for attaching the cover or joiner to the underlying thermal insulation panels and support framework. The cover or joiner can be insulated with 6 mm thick intumescent insulation material and attached (e.g., screwed) to the framework. A front face of the cover or joiner (front facing away from the panels) can be of metal, such as stainless steel or galvanised steel.

A boat fender includes a vinyl fender core that is sized and shaped for suspension adjacent a boat exterior to protect the boat exterior from damage resulting from impact with an obstacle. An integrated cover is secured to the fender core, such as by flocking.

LOWER BEARING FOR MOORING ASSEMBLY FOR A VESSEL
20170240250 · 2017-08-24 ·

A mooring assembly for a vessel comprises a moonpool having a casing, a turret mounted in a moonpole for a rotation by upper and lower bearing assemblies. The lower bearing assembly comprises a stiff inner bearing ring attached to a lower part of the turret, an outer bearing ring attached to a casing of the moonpool and a number of circumferentially spaced bearing blocks positioned between the inner and outer bearing rings. A mounting assembly maintains a substantially fixed position of the bearing blocks relative to the outer bearing ring but allows the bearing blocks to assume a position where the load transfer between the bearing blocks and outer bearing ring occurs with a minimum of stress concentrations within the outer bearing ring and wherein the larger part of the load transfer occurs directly between the bearing blocks and outer bearing ring without being directed through the mounting assembly.

An apparatus for aiding a person to get on and off a boat, the boat step apparatus has two side-rails and a step therebetween. The first side-rail is fixed to the step and the second side-rail is pivotally attached to the step. The apparatus is designed to hang off of the side-rail of a boat and give four stable points of contact along the outer hull side of the boat. The apparatus adjusts fit the shape of a hull of any boat.

Protective cover for sail connectors

A connector cover is proposed that protects the web loop portion of a foresail from exposure to UV radiation. The connector cover is formed of UV-resistant material and is configured to include a tab portion that passes through the shackle and a shroud portion that wraps around the tab and web loop in a manner that maintains the cover in place. Various hook-and-loop fasteners can be used to fix the connector cover in place, as well as external ties, cording, or any other suitable type of releasable fasteners. Advantageously, the connector cover is configured to remain in place and provide protection, but is also easy to remove and replace as necessary.

Packaging film life raft enclosure

A packaged inflatable life raft includes a non-inflated life raft and an enclosure around the non-inflated life raft. The enclosure includes a film with a first layer that is innermost toward the non-inflated life raft, a second layer outer from the first layer, a third layer outer from the second layer, and a fourth layer that is outermost from the non-inflated life raft. Additionally, the first layer includes a heat-sealable polymer selected from polyethylene, polypropylene, or a halogenated polymer. At least one of the second and third layers includes a metal foil or a polymer vapor barrier. At least one of the second, third, and fourth layers includes a polyester or polyamide. At least one of the first, second, third, and fourth layers includes a halogenated polymer, or a polymer composition comprising a halogenated or non-halogenated polymer and a fire retardant.
