Boat and control method for same

A sensor detects a shape of a shore arrival location and a positional relationship of the shore arrival location and a boat body and outputs environment information indicating the shape of the shore arrival location and the positional relationship. A controller receives the environment information and generates an instruction signal to control a propulsion device to cause the boat body to move toward the shore arrival position set based on the environment information and to push the boat body to the shore arrival location.

Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to provide visually correlated radar imagery for mobile structures. A visually correlated radar imagery system includes a radar system, an imaging device, and a logic device configured to communicate with the radar system and imaging device. The radar system is adapted to be mounted to a mobile structure, and the imaging device may include an imager position and/or orientation sensor (IPOS). The logic device is configured to determine a horizontal field of view (FOV) of image data captured by the imaging device and to render radar data that is visually or spatially correlated to the image data based, at least in part, on the determined horizontal FOV. Subsequent user input and/or the sonar data may be used to adjust a steering actuator, a propulsion system thrust, and/or other operational systems of the mobile structure.

Systems and methods for steering a marine vessel

A method of controlling a steering system on a marine vessel includes, in response to receiving a user input to engage a quick steer mode, employing a reduced steering ratio to translate positions of a steering wheel to desired steering angles of a marine drive. A vessel speed of a marine vessel is determined and then compared to a threshold vessel speed. An output limit is determined to prevent the marine vessel from further exceeding the threshold vessel speed while the quick steer mode is engaged. The marine drive is automatically controlled based on the output limit and a steering actuator associated with the marine drive is controlled based on the reduced steering ratio.

Control system for posture control tabs of marine vessel, marine vessel, and method for controlling posture control tabs of marine vessel that are capable of assisting operations of steering control

A control system for posture control tabs of a marine vessel assists operations of a steering control. The posture control tabs are mounted on a stern of a hull to move up or down to control a posture of the hull. Actuators actuate the respective posture control tabs. When a steering instruction is provided through the steering control, a processor determines the posture control tab to be actuated and controls the actuator corresponding to the posture control tab determined to be actuated so as to change the position of the determined posture control tab.

Method and system for static and dynamic positioning or controlling motion of marine structure

Disclosed is a system and method for static and dynamic positioning or motion control of a marine structure by using real-time monitoring of at least one of a mooring line, marine environments, 6-dof movement of a marine structure, a tank state, a ship topside, the seabed, or their combinations. The static and dynamic real-time monitoring data of the mooring line is obtained and processed for positioning the marine structure or controlling and managing a motion thereof. Here, 1) a tension of a mooring line is measured by means of real-time monitoring of the mooring line, 2) various marine environment elements such as wind direction, wind speed, air humidity, atmospheric pressure, atmosphere temperature, cloud height, visibility, ocean wave, wave height, sea current speed, sea current direction, rain or the like are measured by means of real-time monitoring of the marine environments, 3) 6-dof movement of the marine structure is measured by means of real-time monitoring of the marine structure, 4) ullage and sloshing data of various tanks in the marine structure are measured by means of real-time monitoring of tank states, 5) damage and life of pipes, facilities or the like located at a ship topside of the marine structure are measured by means of real-time monitoring of the ship topside, 6) damage and life of umbilical cables, pipes, pumps and valves located on the seabed are measured by means of real-time monitoring of the seabed, and suitable static and dynamic positioning or motion control and management may be automatically performed based thereon.
