Air quality sensors and methods of monitoring air quality

An air quality sensor includes a detector element array, a processor operatively connected to the detector element array, and a memory. The memory is disposed in communication with the processor and has instructions recorded on the memory that, when read by the processor, cause the processor to execute certain operations including measuring electrical resistance of one of more detector element of the detector element array. A difference is calculated between the measured resistance and a reference resistance, and a determination is made of presence or absence of a contaminant in air communicated to the detector element array from an atmosphere of an aircraft cabin based on the difference between the measured resistance and the reference resistance. Aircraft and methods of monitoring air quality also described.

Soft-sided insulated container with lid fitting

A soft-sided insulated container assembly has a generally box-shaped form like a school lunch box, having a main body and a lid. The lid is formed of one of the largest panels of the box-structure, and is joined to the main body of the box by a hinge that lets the lid lie flat next to the main body when the box is open. The inside face of the lid then defines a work surface on which to place objects such as foodstuffs and beverages. The work surface may be formed in a substantially rigid molded stiffener member, and may be divided into sub-regions with raised retainers to discourage sliding of objects where not precisely level. The container assembly may include a rigid internal liner with which the lid may mate zipperlessly. The mating portion of the lid may be formed in the same rigid member as the work surface.

System and method of notification of an aircraft cargo fire within a container

Various embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method for notifying a flight crew of a fire condition in a cargo container of an aircraft. For instance, particular embodiments involve installing at least one notification device on a cargo container that is in communication with at least one of a fire-detection system or a fire-suppression system for the cargo container. In these particular embodiments, the notification device is configured to emit energy when the fire-detection system detects the fire condition in the cargo container or the fire-suppression system activates as a result of the fire condition. Further, particular embodiments of the invention involve installing at least one detector positioned to detect the energy emitted by the notification device. In these particular embodiments, the detector is configured to send a signal to notify the flight crew of the fire condition after detecting the energy emitted by the notification device.

REUSABLE FOOD CONTAINER WITH AN INTEGRATED CUP

A reusable food container includes a base tray, an auxiliary tray stackable atop the base tray and a removable lid for the auxiliary tray. The base tray includes at least one food receptacle and an integrated cup projecting beyond the remainder of the base tray. The auxiliary tray includes at least one food receptacle, and defines a relief that, with the auxiliary tray stacked atop the base tray, accommodates the base tray's cup.

Personal utensil and container

A personal utensil and container for transporting the utensil in a relatively sanitary fashion includes a first container portion and a second container portion pivotably mounted to the first container portion. The first container portion is pivotable between a closed position defining a storage cavity and an open position exposing a first inner surface of the first container portion and a second inner surface of the second container portion. The utensil is mountable within the storage cavity. A hinge is secured to the first and second container portions and defines a pivot axis. The first and second container portions are pivotable about the pivot axis. A lock mechanism is mounted to the first container portion. The lock mechanism engages the second container portion in the closed position to releasably secure the first container portion to the second container portion.

Vocational hood latch assembly

A latch assembly for a vehicle hood includes a hood mount securable to the hood. First and second recesses are formed in the hood mount. The latch assembly includes a cab mount assembly having a mounting bracket, a link, and a handle. The mounting bracket is securable to the cab, and the link has a first end rotatably coupled to the mounting bracket. The handle has a first end rotatably coupled to a second end of the link about a first axis. The handle further includes a trunnion extending laterally from each of two sides of the handle to define a second axis. As the latch assembly moves from an unlatched position to a latched position, each of the trunnions engages one of the first and second recesses in the hood mount so that the handle rotates relative to the hood mount about the second axis.

Closure locking assembly

A locking assembly for a closure system having a first vertical member configured to extend downward along a sidewall of a closure and including a first hook element and a second hook element. A second vertical member having a first hook element and a second hook element is configured to be connected to the first vertical member such that the second vertical member extends downward along an opposite side of the sidewall of the closure from the first vertical member. When the locking assembly is installed on the closure system in a locked position, the first and second vertical members are dimensioned and configured so that the first hook elements are disposed above opposing sides of a top surface of the closure and the second hook elements are disposed beneath opposing sides of the sidewall of the closure for preventing the closure from being removed from the container.
