A post-processing apparatus includes a side edge part removing portion that removes a side edge part from a sheet; a side edge part housing portion that houses the removed side edge part and is able to be pulled out from an apparatus body; a guide plate that is inclined in a direction intersecting with a moving direction of the side edge part and guides the removed side edge part along the moving direction to the housing portion; and a second guide plate that is arranged between the housing portion and the guide plate, and is transformable into a first form having substantially mountain-shaped inclined surfaces in which both end portions of the second guide plate along the moving direction are lower than a center portion thereof, and a second form having substantially valley-shaped inclined surfaces in which both the end portions are higher than the center portion.

A recording apparatus includes a housing configured to house a recording portion recording an image on a sheet and to have a side including an opening through which the sheet passes, a tray configured to rotate about a rotation shaft, relative to the housing, between a closed position at a first angle for closing the opening and an open position at a second angle for loading the sheet, and an urging mechanism configured to urge the tray toward the closed position when an angle about the rotation shaft of the tray is between the first angle and a third angle and to urge the tray toward the open position when an angle about the rotation shaft of the tray is between the third angle and the second angle. The third angle is an angle between the first angle and the second angle.

A recording apparatus includes a housing configured to house a recording portion recording an image on a sheet and to have a side including an opening through which the sheet passes, a tray configured to rotate about a rotation shaft, relative to the housing, between a closed position at a first angle for closing the opening and an open position at a second angle for loading the sheet, and an urging mechanism configured to urge the tray toward the closed position when an angle about the rotation shaft of the tray is between the first angle and a third angle and to urge the tray toward the open position when an angle about the rotation shaft of the tray is between the third angle and the second angle. The third angle is an angle between the first angle and the second angle.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion to form an image on a sheet, a tray on which sheets to be fed are stacked, and a swing member supported by the tray and configured to swing in a case where the swing member is pushed by a discharged sheet. A stacking portion includes a first surface on an upper portion of a first portion, and a moving member in contact with the discharged sheet. The moving member can be positioned at a position downstream of the first surface in the discharge direction, wherein the swing member overlaps with the first surface as viewed in the sheet width direction in a case where the swing member is not in contact with a discharged sheet, and the swing member is arranged such that a lower end of the swing member is not in contact with the stacking portion.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion to form an image on a sheet, a tray on which sheets to be fed are stacked, and a swing member supported by the tray and configured to swing in a case where the swing member is pushed by a discharged sheet. A stacking portion includes a first surface on an upper portion of a first portion, and a moving member in contact with the discharged sheet. The moving member can be positioned at a position downstream of the first surface in the discharge direction, wherein the swing member overlaps with the first surface as viewed in the sheet width direction in a case where the swing member is not in contact with a discharged sheet, and the swing member is arranged such that a lower end of the swing member is not in contact with the stacking portion.

An image reading apparatus includes a stacking portion, a feeding unit, a reading unit, and a discharge portion provided below the stacking portion. The feeding unit feeds a sheet stacked on the stacking portion in a feeding direction. The reading unit reads an image on the fed sheet and the discharge portion discharges the read sheet. The stacking portion includes first and second support surfaces that support the sheet and first and second regulating units to regulate a position of the sheet in a widthwise direction using two opposing ends of the sheet. The second support surface is retractable from a predetermined section above the discharge portion. The first support surface includes a downstream support portion that supports the sheet on a downstream side of the predetermined section in the feeding direction. A part of the second regulating surface is positioned on the downstream support portion.

A post-processing device includes: a passage that extends in one direction; a post-processing section that is movable on a plane along the passage and that is stopped at plural post-processing positions, including a stop position determined in advance, to perform post-processing on a recording medium; and a positioning portion which is provided at the stop position and against which an end portion of the recording medium abuts when the post-processing section performs the post-processing at a post-processing position other than the stop position, the positioning portion being retracted with respect to the post-processing section when the post-processing section passes through the stop position or is moved toward the stop position.

A post-processing device includes: a passage that extends in one direction; a post-processing section that is movable on a plane along the passage and that is stopped at plural post-processing positions, including a stop position determined in advance, to perform post-processing on a recording medium; and a positioning portion which is provided at the stop position and against which an end portion of the recording medium abuts when the post-processing section performs the post-processing at a post-processing position other than the stop position, the positioning portion being retracted with respect to the post-processing section when the post-processing section passes through the stop position or is moved toward the stop position.

In a scanner, a medium transport apparatus includes an apparatus main body including a medium transport path from a supply unit, which supplies a medium, to a discharge unit, which discharges the medium, a switcher that switches an attitude of the apparatus main body with respect to a mounting surface on which the apparatus main body is mounted, and a controller that, when the attitude of the apparatus main body with respect to the mounting surface is switched, performs control in accordance with the attitude after the switching.
