Motor-driven fairlead to aid in spooling or unspooling a line from a winch
A fairlead for use with a winch is disclosed. The fairlead includes: a device for detecting a speed at which a line is being spooled or unspooled from the winch, a first and second roller adapted to aid in spooling or unspooling a line, a fairlead motor for driving at least the first roller, and a controller connected to the fairlead motor. The controller is in communication with the device for detecting the speed. The controller is configured to direct the fairlead motor to drive at least the first roller at a speed that maintains tension on the line as it is unspooling or spooling. Alternatively, the device measures current drawn by the fairlead motor and the controller directs the fairlead motor to drive the rollers at a speed that maintains a target current draw.
NEW ROAD PLATE MOVING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A road plate moving system and method is disclosed that makes it easier, safer, and more economical to move road plates. A frame detachably attaches to a road plate at the centre of the road plate, and the frame is detachably attached to a vehicle, and the frame is attached to rollers that straddle the road plate and are configured to move in the desired direction of travel. Each roller has a lifting mechanism to adjust the height of the frame relative to the bottom of the rollers. In use, the frame is attached to the road plate, and the road plate is lifted off the ground by the rollers lifting the frame, and the frame and road plate are pulled forward or backwards by the vehicle to move the road plate, which is then lowered to the ground. In a second embodiment, the road plate is lifted by a lifter located above the centre of the road plate.
VEHICLE ASSEMBLY HAVING CORSSBAR-MOUNTED LIFT ASSIST DEVICE AND LIFT ASSIST OPERATING METHOD
A vehicle assembly according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a cargo bed of a vehicle and a crossbar spanning the cargo bed. The crossbar is slidable relative to the cargo bed. A lift assist device is mounted to the crossbar. The assembly can include a passenger side rail mounted to a passenger side wall assembly of the cargo bed, and a driver side rail mounted to a driver side wall assembly of the cargo bed. The crossbar can be slidably coupled to both the driver side rail and the passenger side rail.
Apparatus and method for winch lighting
