20220015550 · 2022-01-20 ·

An upholstery device has a top face, a bottom face and, between top face and bottom face, sides walls extending around the outer circumference. A cover layer surrounds the top face, the side walls and/or the bottom face. A cushioning layer is arranged under the top cover layer. The cover layer is light-transmissive. The cushioning layer is also light-transmissive. A heat-absorbing flexible absorber layer is arranged underneath the cushioning layer. A solar thermal storage layer is operatively connected to the absorber layer and arranged underneath or above the absorber layer and has phase change material, or PCM. Alternatively, a functional layer with a solar thermal storage layer made of integrated, solar thermal phase change material, or PCM, is arranged underneath the cushioning layer at least in certain regions, in particular over the whole surface, wherein the functional layer has in particular an absorber layer.

A cushioning module used to make various furniture such as mattresses, made of a matrix of cells, each cell made of typically a cuboid base supporting a typically cuboid top, made of a compressible and retractable material such as foam, which top has a smaller diameter than the base so that when said cells are tightly arranged, each top is apart from adjacent tops, enabling it to contract and retract spring like. Said matrix inside a bag which tightly embraces it from all sides and has an opening via which each cell can be removed and replaced. Pods can have a smoothing layer spread over said tops, means for fastening them together, carrying handle, stiffening pads along their lateral sides and a cover around their assembly. Cells can also be sacks filled with cotton, wool, dawn, foam bits or air which can be let out and re-filled.

Woven textile with point-to-point conductive trace

Conductive wires or traces woven into a textile article as a warp or weft yarn are limited in directionality and beginning and end points. The presently disclosed woven electronic textiles permit electrical traces to begin and end at specific points within an interior of the textile and for runs of the electrical traces to extend continuously at any desired angle and connecting any number of specific points across a textile surface. Such electrical traces are referred to herein as point-to-point conductive traces.

Elastomeric upholstery piping

An upholstery piping component for a vehicle seat includes an elongated anchor and an elongated projection. The elongated anchor is formed from an elastomeric material. The elongated anchor extends along a length. The elongated anchor is configured to be coupled to a first upholstery portion and a second upholstery portion and disposed between the first upholstery portion and the second upholstery portion. The elongated projection is formed from the elastomeric material. The elongated projection is integrally is formed with the elongated anchor. The elongated projection extends from the elongated anchor for at least a portion of the length. The elongated projection is configured to at least partially conceal a seam between the first upholstery portion and the second upholstery portion. The elastomeric material is flexible such that the upholstery piping component is configured to move between a neutral configuration and a modified configuration.

A tension device integrated into a pillow or cushion that allows the user to manually adjust the internal arrangement and thus the thickness and firmness of the pillow by pulling on one or more cords that are attached at various locations inside or on the outside of the pillow and run through at least a portion of the interior of the pillow. The cord(s) attach to a portion of the inside or outside of the pillow, then traverse the interior of the pillow to exit a different side of the pillow than the one to which they are attached. The user then pulls on the cord(s) pulling one side of the pillow towards another and then secures the free ends of the cord(s) when the desired firmness is achieved.
