Self-contained, PV-powered domestic toilet and wastewater treatment system
A wastewater treatment system and method for remediating wastewater and human waste that is self-contained and that has no connection to a municipal wastewater system and no connection to an electrical grid. The domestic toilet and wastewater treatment system can be powered by a photovoltaic panel as a source of electricity. The system includes an electrochemical cell that allows a waste stream to be disinfected in a few hours to a condition where no viable bacterial colonies can be cultured. The system produces a liquid stream that is suitable for system flushing or for uses in which non-potable water is acceptable. The system can generate hydrogen as a product that can be used to generate power. The system can generate nitrate, urea, ammonia and phosphate for use as fertilizer. The disinfected residual organic solids are also completely disinfected for potential use as an organic soil amendment for agriculture.
DESALINATION BRINE CONCENTRATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method for producing very high concentration brine streams from which commercially efficiently obtained minerals may be obtained is produced by a dual membrane brine concentrator system (DTRI Concentrator). The system includes a nano-filtration system which removes divalent ions from the seawater, a brine concentrator such as a hollow fine fiber forward osmosis system which receives and further concentrates the brine rejected from the nano-filtration system, a SWRO system which receives the NF system permeate and removes monovalent ions, and another brine concentrator which further concentrates the brine rejected from SWRO system. Various permeate and reject brine flow may be forwarded through the Dual Membrane Brine Concentrator system, and multiple stages of the system components may be used, to enhance brine concentration and improve system efficiency.

A method for biomass assisted separation of particulate matter from a liquid stream and upgrading of the combined solids.
The present invention relates to a method of wastewater treatment in which a filter aid prepared by extrusion of freshly harvested wet lignocellulosic feedstocks or by extrusion of wet lignocellulosic feedstocks having dry matter content 30-75% (w/w) is used to collect sewage sludge and the combined spent filter aid with collected sewage sludge is used for hydrothermal conversion.
Solar sterilization apparatus for incremental boiling
A water sterilizer powered by solar energy is described. A first check valve allows an increment of untreated water to flow from a reservoir into a boiling chamber where it is heated to boiling, and thus sterilized, by focused solar energy. A second check valve with a higher cracking pressure than the first valve remains closed, holding the increment of untreated water in the boiling chamber until the pressure of steam forces the second valve open, thus evacuating the chamber of now-sterilized water. Once the chamber is evacuated, the second valve automatically closes, and the first valve automatically opens, allowing another incremental sterilizing cycle to begin.

Sludge treatment system and sludge treatment method
An ozone treatment apparatus includes: an ozone gas generator that generates ozone gas from raw material gas; a sludge pump that pressurizes sludge to be treated; an ejector in which the sludge to be treated, which is pressurized by the sludge pump, is injected; and a valve provided between the ozone gas generator and the ejector. The valve becomes in an open state when pressure on the former stage side is larger than pressure on the latter stage side by a specified value or higher. An ozone gas storage facility may be provided between the ozone gas generator and the valve. A sludge mixing tank installed in the latter stage of the ejector and a sludge circulation pump that connects an upper part of the sludge mixing tank and the latter stage of the sludge pump may be provided.
Device for preparing washing water
A device for preparing washing water, belonging to the technical field of electro-chemical and membrane filtration water treatment. The device comprises a water container which is respectively provided with a water inlet and a water outlet; at least one pair of a cathode and an anode are arranged within the water container; a water-permeable porous membrane is clamped between the coupled cathode and anode with no gaps, and the area of the inside of the water-permeable porous membrane opposite the cathode or the anode is smaller than the area of the inside of the cathode or the anode opposite the water-permeable porous membrane. The device can generate washing water which contains a large a number of ultra-micro bubbles and strong oxidation factors and has excellent reducibility.
