Method and systems are disclosed for the removal of metal contaminants from aqueous mediums. In an example, a chamber contains activated sorptive media and a primary ligand and optionally, a secondary ligand that has been loaded onto the activated sorptive media using hydraulic loading. A pre-treatment of the sorptive media, a specific volume of the activated sorptive media within the chamber, specific pH ranges of aqueous mediums, and hydraulic loading of the primary ligand and optionally, a secondary ligand, known as dynamic fluidized loading. Pore pressures of the seeding solution within the media are at least sufficient to overcome the gravitational forces acting on the media within the column. The methods and systems provide a highly uniform and predictable loading of the primary ligand and optionally, the secondary ligand, onto the activated sorptive media throughout the sorptive media for effective sorption and increased capacity for metal removal from aqueous mediums.

ID. NO: 1 (Accession NO: KCTC 12663BP), and a method for preventing and treating the infections of enteroinvasive E. coli using the composition comprising said bacteriophage as an active ingredient.

SYNTHESIS METHOD OF INDOLE DERIVATIVE CAPABLE OF EFFICIENTLY DEGRADING PERFLUORINATED COMPOUND (PFC) AND THE USE OF THE INDOLE DERIVATIVE
20230167055 · 2023-06-01 · ·

A synthesis method of an indole derivative capable of efficiently degrading a perfluorinated compound (PFC) and a use of the indole derivative are provided. The synthesis method includes dissolving an appropriate amount of indole, alkylamine, and formaldehyde in an ethanol solution, conducting a reaction at reflux under suitable conditions for a specified period of time with ZnCl.sub.2 or glacial acetic acid as a catalyst to form a reaction product, vacuum-drying the reaction product, and purifying the reaction product through column chromatography to obtain a novel indole derivative with a hydrophobic alkyl branch. The present indole derivative has some hydrophobicity and a positively charged amino group that can effectively capture PFCs in contaminated water to produce a sub-nanoscale self-assembled aggregate. Hydrated electrons generated by light irradiation can directly attack PFCs in the aggregate without long-distance mass transfer, improving the utilization rate of hydrated electrons and reduces the ratio of fed materials.

Use of celluloses in sludge dewatering, and sludge products thereof

Methods to improve dewatering in industrial and municipal sludges are described. One method involves admixing sludge from a papermaking process and modified cellulose to provide modified sludge with the modified cellulose present in an effective amount to improve dewatering in the treated sludge, such as in allowing use of reduced amounts of coagulant and/or reducing dewatering times, increased dewatered volumes, and reduced sludge product moisture contents, and the like. The dewatered sludge may be formed into a dried particulate, and may be used as filler or other component of concrete, rubber, asphalt, plastics, resin-wood composite products, and other composite products.
