Multi zone cementitious product and method
11724416 · 2023-08-15 · ·

A multi-zone cementitious product, which includes a base zone made of a first cementitious material composition and forming a portion of the product. At least one facing zone is adjacent to and bonded to the base zone, the facing zone made of a second cementitious material composition and forming at least one exterior face of said product which is visible when the product is installed. A disrupted boundary layer is between the facing zone and the base zone, and includes material from both the facing zone and the base zone. The disrupted boundary layer bonds the facing zone to the base zone. The facing zone has a thickness sufficient to prevent the base zone from being visible when the product is installed.

LIGHTWEIGHT FIBER-REINFORCED CEMENT MATERIAL

The present invention provides a fiber-reinforced cement composition comprising; cement, fiber, silica, filler, expanded perlite, and polymer. The fiber-reinforced cement composition according to the present invention has low density, high toughness and flexural strength, and not contains volatile composition. When it is molded into workpiece, the workpiece is lightweight, easy to be cut and/or lathed into desired shapes, drilled and fixed with screws and/or repeatedly nailed at the same position, tolerant to humidity, termites and insects, inflammable and does not produce powder when cut, drilled and/or lathed that is hazardous to the workers. Therefore, it is suitably applicable for being utilized as a material for manufacturing furniture parts.

Cement-SCM compositions and methods and systems for their manufacture
11746048 · 2023-09-05 · ·

Method of efficiently manufacturing cement-SCM compositions having improved strength compared to cement-SCM compositions made using conventional methods. The cement-SCM compositions may contain: (A) a fine interground particulate component with (1) a hydraulic cement fraction and (2) a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) fraction; (B) a coarse particulate component comprised of coarse SCM particles not interground with the fine interground particulate component; and optionally (C) an auxiliary particulate component not interground with the fine interground particulate component or the coarse particulate component. A method of manufacturing a cement-SCM composition may be performed by: (A) intergrinding hydraulic cement (e.g., cement clinker) with one or more SCMs to form a fine interground particulate component; (B) blending, without intergrinding, the fine interground particulate component with a coarse particulate component comprised of coarse SCM particles; and optionally (C) further combining, without intergrinding, an auxiliary particulate component with the fine interground particulate component and the coarse particulate component.

Activitation of natural pozzolans

An activated pozzolan composition includes a fine interground particulate blend of an initially unactivated natural pozzolan and a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) different than the initially unactivated natural pozzolan. The initially unactivated natural pozzolan may include volcanic ash or other natural pozzolanic deposit having a moisture content of at least 3%, and the activated pozzolan composition can have a moisture content less than 0.5% The initially unactivated natural pozzolan may have a particle size less than 1 mm before intergrinding with the SCM. The SCM used to activate the initially unactivated natural pozzolan can be initially coarse or granular with a size greater than 1-3 μm and may include granulated blast furnace slag, steel slag, other metallurgical slag, pumice, limestone, fine aggregate, shale, tuff, trass, geologic material, waste glass, glass shards, basalt, sinters, ceramics, recycled bricks, recycled concrete, refractory materials, other waste industrial products, sand, or natural mineral.

Cementitious Panels with Swellable Materials and Methods of Providing a Moisture or Water Barrier in Cementitious Panels Using Swellable Materials

Provided are cementitious panel that include a swellable material within a core layer, a dense layer, and/or a sheet of facing material that make up a cementitious panel, as well as methods of manufacturing such cementitious panels that include a swellable material and methods of providing a moisture or water barrier in a cementitious panel.

ROOF TILE WITH AN IMPROVED COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
20210156149 · 2021-05-27 ·

A composition for a cementitious roofing tile, the composition includes a cement binder making up 10% to 20% of a total composition weight; a fine aggregate sand making up 20% to 25% of the total composition weight; an aggregate making up 12% to 20% of the total composition weight; a crushed glass making up 15% to 60% of the total composition weight; an alkali-silica reaction (ASR) suppressant; and a predetermined volume of water; the aggregate is selected from one of perlite, vermiculite, hemp, expanded clay, coco coir, shale and slate; and the fine aggregate sand has an average particle size from a minimum of 1 micron to a maximum size of 2 mm; and the crushed glass has an average particle size that ranges from 1 micron to a maximum of 5 mm.

Shrinkage-compensating concrete
10934212 · 2021-03-02 · ·

A shrinkage compensating concrete does not require restraint. The expansive forces developed during hydration compensate for concrete shrinkage, obviating the need for any added internal or external restraint element. Using this new shrinkage compensating concrete, substantially crack-free slabs may be built without using restraining steel bars, fibers, or other separate restraining element. The shrinkage compensating concrete includes a cement that develops internal expansive forces that never exceed the tensile strength of the concrete, such that the internal expansion compensates for the concrete shrinkage. The expansive cement may be an ASTMS, M or S cement, or other expansive cements may also be used.
