POROUS POLYMER COMPOSITE FOR DAYTIME RADIATIVE COOLING AND METHOD OF MAKING A POROUS POLYMER COMPOSITE
A porous polymer composite for daytime radiative cooling includes a porous polymer matrix comprising a thermoplastic polymer and including a plurality of pores, and selectively emitting particles dispersed in the porous polymer matrix. When exposed to solar radiation, the porous polymer composite comprises an infrared emissivity of at least about 80% in a wavelength range of 8-13 μm and/or a solar reflectivity of at least about 80% in a wavelength range of 0.3-2 μm.
FIBER-REIMFORCED MOLDED BODIES MADE OF EXPANDED PARTICLE FOAM MATERIAL
The present invention relates to a molding made of expanded bead foam, wherein at least one fiber (F) is partly within the molding, i.e. is surrounded by the expanded bead foam. The two ends of the respective fibers (F) that are not surrounded by the expanded bead foam thus each project from one side of the corresponding molding. The present invention further provides a panel comprising at least one such molding and at least one further layer (S1). The present invention further provides processes for producing the moldings of the invention from expanded bead foam or the panels of the invention and for the use thereof, for example as rotor blade in wind turbines.
METHOD FOR FUSING PARTICLE FOAMS BY MEANS OF POROUS SLEEVES
A process for producing a molded article involves providing a thin-walled, gas-permeable shell; filling the shell with a foamed pelletized material composed of a polymer; and welding the foamed pelletized material to obtain the molded article. Molded articles are obtainable or obtained by such a process, and can be used as a footwear sole, part of a footwear sole, a mattress, a seat cushion, an underlay, a grip, a protective film, a component in automobile interiors and exteriors, a gymnastics mat, a body protector, a trim element in automobile construction, a sound insulator, a vibration damper, a cushion, a bicycle saddle, a toy, a tire or part of a tire, a covering for a track and field surface, a covering for a sports hall or a pathway, a damping layer or a damping core in a sandwich element, or a packaging.
Method for producing a foamed granulate and use thereof
The invention relates to a method in which a polyester melt containing one or more polyesters is produced, the polyester melt being foamed by a blowing agent and a foamed granulate is produced from the foamed polyester melt. The intrinsic viscosity (IV) of the polyester melt is reduced by the blowing agent about at least 0.05 dl/g, measured according to ASTM D4603, and the IV of the foamed granulate is then increased by means of a solid phase polycondensation (SSP).
Algae-derived flexible foam, and method of manufacturing the same
This document discloses algae-derived flexible foams, whether open-cell or closed-cell, with inherent antimicrobial and flame resistant properties, wherein a process of manufacturing includes the steps of: harvesting algae-biomass; sufficiently drying the algae biomass; blending the dried algae biomass with a carrier resin and various foaming ingredients; adding an algal-derived antimicrobial compound selected from various natural sulfated polysaccharides present in brown algae, red algae, and/or certain seaweeds (marine microalgae); and adding a sufficient quantity of dried algae biomass to the formulation to adequately create a fire resistant flexible foam material.
Foam Abrasive and Method for Producing Same
A foam abrasive for grinding a workpiece includes a main part made of foam, in particular polyurethane foam, and abrasive grains which are fixed to at least one surface of the foam abrasive via a base binder made of thermoplastic polyurethane. The abrasive grains are covered with a cover binder.
Comfort eTPU
Molded articles contain a foam composed of a thermoplastic elastotner (TPE-1). The foam has a storage modulus (G modulus) at 25° C. and 1 Hz within the range from 0.01 to 0.5 MPa, a molding density within the range from 20 to 400 kg/m.sup.3, and a comfort factor of greater than 4. A process produces molded articles of this kind, and the molded article can be used for producing floors, mattresses, seating furniture, bicycle saddles, car seats, motorcycle seats, components of a shoe, shoe inserts, packaging, shock absorbers, protectors, fall protection mats, elastic insulating material, or sealing material.
Shoe sole member, shoe, and method for manufacturing shoe sole member
A shoe sole member formed by a foam includes cells having a certain size and being excellent in transparency in order to provide a shoe sole member being lightweight and excellent cushioning properties while having transparency.
Thermally expandable compositions comprising urea derivatives
The present application relates to a thermally expandable composition containing at least one peroxide cross-linking polymer, at least one peroxide and at least one endothermic, chemical blowing agent, the blowing agent comprising at least one solid, optionally functionalized, polycarboxylic acid or the salt thereof and at least one urea derivative according to the formula (I) as defined herein; as well as shaped bodies containing the composition and to a method for sealing and filling voids in components, for strengthening or reinforcing components, in particular hollow components, and for bonding mobile components using shaped bodies of this type.
Artificial turf suitable for sports fields
The present invention relates to an artificial turf suitable for sports fields consisting at least of a substrate to which first artificial grass fibres are attached and of a granular infill, which is provided between said first artificial grass fibres, wherein said granular infill is made of a foam material comprising polylactic acid or a derivative thereof.
