Primerless paint composition, methods of manufacture thereof and articles comprising the same
Disclosed herein is a primerless paint composition comprising a carboxylated chlorinated polyolefin elastomer; one or more of a polyacrylic binder, a polyvinylchloride binder and a vinyl aromatic block copolymer binder; a pigment; and a liquid carrier. Disclosed herein too is a method comprising blending a primerless paint composition comprising a carboxylated chlorinated polyolefin elastomer; one or more of a polyacrylic binder, polyvinylchloride binder and a vinyl aromatic block copolymer binder; a pigment; and a liquid carrier; and disposing the primerless paint composition on a polyolefin elastomer substrate that does not have a primer disposed on it prior to the disposing of the primerless paint composition.
Vinylidene-fluoride resin film
To provide a vinylidene-fluoride resin film having low cloudiness and good visibility of a pattern and the like of a decorative film of a lower layer although having a matte tone with low glossiness. The vinylidene-fluoride resin film comprises crosslinked acrylic acid ester resin particles, in which the crosslinked acrylic acid ester resin particles have an average particle diameter of 5% or more and 40% or less to the thickness of the vinylidene-fluoride resin film and the arithmetic average surface roughness (Ra) of the vinylidene-fluoride resin film is 0.4 μm or more and less than 2 μm.
Impact modified styrene copolymer composition comprising polysiloxane additive having improved abrasion characteristics
Thermoplastic polymer compositions (P) comprising at least one styrene-based polymer composition (A) comprising at least one graft copolymer (A-1), at least one organopolysiloxane compound, and optionally at least one colorant, dye or pigment, and/or at least one further additive, shows improved properties with respect to residual gloss after abrasion combined with improved melt flow characteristics while heat resistance is not affected.
Aromatic vinyl copolymer and thermoplastic resin composition including the same
An aromatic vinyl copolymer is a polymer of a reaction mixture including: an aromatic vinyl compound; a vinyl cyanide compound; a first silicone compound having a weight average molecular weight of about 150 g/mol to less than about 6,000 g/mol and including at least two unsaturated reactive groups; and a second silicone compound having a weight average molecular weight of about 6,000 g/mol to about 100,000 g/mol and including at least two unsaturated reactive groups. A thermoplastic resin composition including the aromatic vinyl copolymer can exhibit excellent matting properties, impact resistance, and balance therebetween.
READILY PROCESS-ABLE, OIL-RESISTANT THERMOPLASTIC VULCANIZATES
Disclosed are thermoplastic vulcanizates comprising a plastic phase and a rubber phase and process for preparing such thermoplastic vulcanizates, wherein the plastic phase comprises a thermoplastic polymer and the rubber phase comprises a carboxylated nitrile rubber.
Rubber compositions and methods of producing rubber compositions
A rubber composition contains: at least one rubber component selected from the group consisting of an ethylene propylene diene rubber, a chloroprene rubber, a nitrile rubber, and an acrylic rubber; 1.5 to 30 parts by mass of a fluorene-modified cellulose nanofiber per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component; and 30 to 120 parts by mass of a carbon-based filler per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component. A method of producing a rubber composition comprises: kneading a dispersion of a fluorene-modified cellulose nanofiber in a process oil and a rubber component to prepare a kneaded material; and mixing a vulcanizing agent into the kneaded material.
