The present invention relates to a fiber-reinforced plastic, including: a reinforcing fiber group containing reinforcing fibers; a thermosetting resin layer containing a first thermosetting resin; and a thermoplastic resin layer, in which the thermoplastic resin layer is provided as a surface layer of the fiber-reinforced plastic, an interface between the thermoplastic resin layer and the thermosetting resin layer is positioned inside the reinforcing fiber group, and the thermoplastic resin layer contains a dispersed phase of a second thermosetting resin.
FOAMABLE POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITION, AND FOAMED POLYPROPYLENE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
A foamable polypropylene composition, and foamed polypropylene and a preparation method therefor are provided. The polypropylene composition comprises polypropylene, a polypropylene modifier, a foaming agent, and an optional nucleating agent. A preparation method for the polypropylene modifier comprises: enabling polar monomer grafted polypropylene to be in contact with a component A to react and carrying out extruding pelletizing, wherein a polar monomer in the polar monomer grafted polypropylene can chemically react with the component A; the polar monomer is selected from at least one of dimethylamino methacrylate, epoxy acrylate, trimeric acrylic isocyanurate, and acrylamide; and the component A is selected from at least one of polyisocyanate, polyethylene oxide, and an amido-containing substance. The foamed polypropylene has an obtained foaming ratio of 12 times or more, and also has high tensile and flexural properties.
Lubricous silicone
A method for making an insertable or implantable medical device including a lubricous coating on a silicone substrate includes treating the silicone substrate with an atmospheric plasma at about atmospheric pressure, the atmospheric plasma formed from a noble gas; applying a solution directly to the treated silicone substrate, the solution including a thermoplastic polyurethane; and heating the silicone substrate and the applied solution to form the lubricous coating on the silicone substrate.
SILICONE HYDROGEL LENS WITH A CROSSLINKED HYDROPHILIC COATING
The invention is related to a cost-effective method for making a silicone hydrogel contact lens having a crosslinked hydrophilic coating thereon. A method of the invention involves heating a silicone hydrogel contact lens in an aqueous solution in the presence of a watersoluble, highly branched, thermally-crosslinkable hydrophilic polymeric material having positively-charged azetidinium groups, to and at a temperature from about 40° C. to about 140° C. for a period of time sufficient to covalently attach the thermally-crosslinkable hydrophilic polymeric material onto the surface of the silicone hydrogel contact lens through covalent linkages each formed between one azetidinium group and one of the reactive functional groups on and/or near the surface of the silicone hydrogel contact lens, thereby forming a crosslinked hydrophilic coating on the silicone hydrogel contact lens. Such method can be advantageously implemented directly in a sealed lens package during autoclave.
Dry tape material for fiber placement, method of manufacturing the same, and reinforcing fiber laminate and fiber-reinforced plastic molded body produced with the same
A dry tape material for fiber placement includes a plurality of reinforcing fiber strands that satisfy (i) to (iii): (i) the reinforcing fiber strand has thicknesses T1 and T3 at both ends in a width direction of a section of the reinforcing fiber strand, and both T1 and T3 are 50 to 200% relative to a thickness T2 at a central portion of the reinforcing fiber strand, (ii) the reinforcing fiber strand has a number of filaments N and a width W that satisfy a relationship of 4.8<N/W<12, and (iii) the reinforcing fiber strand has a form kept by a first resin material having a glass transition temperature Tg or a melting point Tm of 40° C. to 200° C., the first resin material being heat-meltable, wherein the plurality of reinforcing fiber strands are bound and integrated with each other by a second resin material.
COMPATIBILIZED BLENDS OF TEREPHALATE ESTER POLYOLS AND HYDROCARBON BLOWING AGENTS
Formulated polyol compositions contain a terephthalic acid-based polyester polyol, a C4-7 hydrocarbon blowing agent, and a nonionic surfactant that has a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of greater than 13 to 18.5. The formulated polyol compositions exhibit surprisingly good storage stability and resist stratifying into layers. The compositions are useful to make rigid polyurethane and/or polyisocyanurate foams. The good compatibility of the blowing agent leads to improved cell structure in the foams.
THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE DIELECTRIC FILM
A thermally conductive dielectric film includes a thermoplastic layer including polyester segments and 5 to 30% by wt polyether amide segments. The thermally conductive dielectric film has a thickness of less than 100 micrometers.
Silicone hydrogel lenses with water-rich surfaces
The invention is related to a hydrated silicone hydrogel contact lens having a layered structural configuration: a lower water content silicone hydrogel core (or bulk material) completely covered with a layer of a higher water content hydrogel totally or substantially free of silicone. A hydrated silicone hydrogel contact lens of the invention possesses high oxygen permeability for maintaining the corneal health and a soft, water-rich, lubricious surface for wearing comfort.
