CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS WITH ENGINEERED SOUND ATTENUATING PROPERTIES AND METHODS THEREFOR
A sound attenuation material includes a plurality of particles, each having a core and an elastic or compliant coating around the core, and a matrix surrounding the plurality of particles, the matrix being less dense than the core. A method of manufacturing sound attenuating materials includes adding an elastic or compliant coating to core particles and drying and/or curing the coating, mixing the coated core particles into a matrix material, and pouring the mixture into a mold. The core particles are denser than the matrix material.

Latex compositions comprising polysaccharides
Disclosed herein are aqueous latex compositions comprising polysaccharide particles and a polymer dispersion or polymer emulsion. In one embodiment the polysaccharide particles comprise poly alpha-1,3-glucan. Also disclosed are an adhesive, film, coating, or binder comprising the latex composition in a dry form, as well as articles comprising the adhesive, film, coating, or binder.
Removable Rubber Compositions and Methods of Forming Removable Waterproof Barriers
Various forms of rubber compositions may be applied to create a temporary, removable waterproof barrier for various building structures or components such as doors, windows, houses, barns, sheds, mobile homes, automobiles, recreational vehicles, boats, campers, tents, vinyl awnings, covers and tarps, and the like. In some aspects, the form of removable rubber compositions may include a sprayable aerosol-based liquid composition, a viscous liquid rubber composition, a malleable paste or caulk, or a rubberized adhesive tape. In some aspects, the rubber compositions may be applied to portions of a building structure or component which are at risk from water damage due to an approaching storm or natural event, and to create a temporary, watertight barrier that is removable without damaging the building structure or component. The rubber compositions and rubberized tape may be removed from the building structure or component after the storm or natural event has subsided.
