METHOD FOR FORMING PROTECTIVE FILM, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PATTERNED SUBSTRATE, AND COMPOSITION
A method for forming a protective film includes directly or indirectly coating only a periphery of a substrate with a composition. The composition includes a compound having an aromatic ring, and a solvent. The solvent includes a first solvent having a normal boiling point of 156° C. or higher and lower than 300° C. A content of the first solvent in the solvent is preferably 20 mass % or more and 100 mass % or less. The first solvent is preferably an ester, an alcohol, an ether, a carbonate, or a combination of two or more of an ester, an alcohol, an ether, and a carbonate.
Compositions comprising a copolymer of a solid grade oligomer and a hydrophobic monomer and/or a gas-phase monomer and methods of making the same
The present disclosure relates to compositions comprising a copolymer derived from polymerizing a hydrophobic monomer and/or a gas-phase monomer in the presence of a solid grade oligomer. In some embodiments, the hydrophobic monomer includes styrene and butadiene. In some embodiments, the copolymer is derived from polymerizing a gas-phase monomer. The present disclosure also relates to methods of making the disclosed compositions. The compositions disclosed herein can be used in a variety of applications including, but not limited to, asphalt compositions, paints, coatings, paper binding and coating compositions, foams, or adhesives.
Primer for electroless plating comprising hyperbranched polymer and metal fine particles
There is provided a novel, environmentally friendly primer for use in the pretreatment steps in electroless plating, which can be easily used in fewer steps with a lower cost. A primer for forming a metallic plating film on a substrate by electroless plating, the primer including: a hyperbranched polymer having an ammonium group at a molecular terminal and a weight-average molecular weight of 500 to 5,000,000; and a metal fine particle.
