Adhesive multicomponent composition and uses thereof
A multicomponent adhesive composition comprises a composition A and a composition B. Composition A comprises at least one silyl polymer comprising at least one hydrolyzable alkoxysilane group and at least one tackifying resin. Composition B comprises at least one catalyst and at least one compound C chosen from a compound C1 with a number-average molecular mass ranging from 300 g/mol to 500 000 g/mol; and a compound C2 with a vapor pressure at 20° C. of greater than or equal to 0.08 kPa; and mixtures thereof. The composition A:composition B mass ratio ranges from 99.98:0.02 to 60:40. The total content of catalyst ranges from 0.01% to 10% relative to the total weight of said adhesive composition.
Bio-based polymers from raw lignocellulosic biomass
Disclosed herein is a method of making polymerizable bio-based monomers containing one phenolic hydroxyl group which has been derivatized to provide at least one polymerizable functional group which is an ethylenically unsaturated functional group (such as a [meth]acrylate group), where the precursors of the polymerizable bio-based monomers are derived from raw lignin-containing biomass. Also disclosed herein are bio-based copolymers prepared from such bio-based monomers and a co-monomer, and methods of making and using such bio-based copolymers. In particular, the bio-based copolymers can be used as pressure sensitive adhesives, binders, and polymer electrolytes.

An adhesive composition and a polarizing plate including an adhesive layer formed using the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, an adhesive composition includes 3-ethyl-3-(2-ethylhexyloxy)methyloxetane, 3-ethyl-3-hydroxymethyloxetane, 3,3′-oxybis(methylene)bis(3-ethyloxetane), an acryl-based compound, an aromatic epoxy compound, and an alicyclic epoxy compound, wherein the 3-ethyl-3-(2-ethylhexyloxy)methyloxetane is present in an amount of 20 parts by weight to 40 parts by weight, the 3-ethyl-3-hydroxymethyloxetane is present in 2 parts by weight to 8 parts by weight, the 3,3′-oxybis(methylene)bis(3-ethyloxetane) is present in 2 parts by weight to 8 parts by weight, the acryl-based compound is present in 5 parts by weight to 20 parts by weight, the aromatic epoxy compound is present in 7 parts by weight to 40 parts by weight, and the alicyclic epoxy compound is present in 10 parts by weight to 50 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the adhesive composition.

Starch and carboxylic acid binder compositions and articles made therewith
Fiber-containing composites are described that include woven or non-woven fibers, and a binder that holds the fibers together. The binder may include the reaction product of a starch and a polycarboxylic acid. The starch has a weight average molecular weight that ranges from 1×10.sup.6 Daltons to 1×10.sup.7 Daltons. The fiber-containing composite has an unaged tensile strength of greater than 4.0 and an aged tensile strength greater than 3.0. Also described are methods of making the fiber-containing composites. The methods may include applying a binder composition to fibers to form coated fibers, measuring a moisture content of the coated fibers, and curing the coated fibers in a curing oven to form the fiber-containing composite. The binder composition may include a starch having a weight average molecular weight that ranges from 1×10.sup.6 Daltons to 1×10.sup.7 Daltons, and a polycarboxylic acid.
Self-adhesive composition for the bonding of substrates with low surface energy
A hot-melt adhesive composition comprises a mixture of silylated polymers, a tackifying resin and a catalyst, in specific contents, having self-adhesive properties after crosslinking to moisture. A self-adhesive article comprises a support layer and at least one self-adhesive layer obtained after crosslinking to the moisture in the adhesive composition according to the invention. The self-adhesive article can be used to bond low-energy substrates, in particular plastic substrates, notably thermoplastic substrates having low surface energy.
RESIN COMPOSITION AND ARTICLE MADE THEREFROM
A resin composition includes 100 parts by weight of an unsaturated C═C double bond-containing polyphenylene ether resin and 20 parts by weight to 150 parts by weight of a homopolymer of Formula (1). The resin composition is useful for making different articles, including a prepreg, a resin film, a laminate or a printed circuit board, which may achieve excellent multi-layer board thermal resistance, thermal resistance after moisture absorption and rigidity and achieve high glass transition temperature, low dissipation factor, and low Z-axis ratio of thermal expansion.

Recycling compatible PSA label
A label which is attachable to object surfaces includes a pressure sensitive adhesive layer having a coat weight equal to or higher than 10 g/m.sup.2. The adhesive layer has a composition which is free of alkylphenol ethoxylate and has been selected to comprise emulsion polymerized, water-dispersible acrylate polymer and non-ionic copolymer based on polyethylene glycol and polypropylene glycol such that when the adhesive layer is subjected to paper recycling process conditions, the adhesive layer resists disintegration into small fragments.
