METHOD FOR TREATING AN ANIMAL SUBSTRATE
A method for tanning an animal substrate comprising the steps: i) agitating the animal substrate with a chromium-free tanning agent; and ii) agitating the animal substrate with a tanning agent having an oxazolidine group; wherein at least some of the agitation is performed in the presence of a solid particulate material having an average particle size of from 1 to 500 mm.

ANIMAL SKIN SUBSTRATE TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD
The invention relates to an improved method and apparatus for the treatment of animal skin substrates which employs a multiplicity of solid particles. There is disclosed an apparatus for treating one or more animal skin substrates with a multiplicity of solid particles and treatment liquor comprising: a rotatably mounted drum comprising an internal volume having a first portion defining a treatment volume for retaining said animal substrates and a second portion defining a collecting volume; one or more inlets for introducing solid particles and treatment liquor into said treatment volume; a partition separating said treatment volume from said collecting volume wherein said partition allows free passage of solid particles from the treatment volume to the collecting volume and prevents the passage of the substrates therethrough; a circulation path for conveying said solid particles from the collecting volume to the treatment volume; and a pumping device arranged to pump solid particles and said treatment liquor along a portion of said circulation path.
A METHOD AND A PACKAGING FOR PACKING ONE OR MORE ANIMAL HIDES
A method for packing one or more animal hides includes a step of providing a packaging having a first packaging volume configured to contain one or more animal hides and a volume of gas. A further step includes providing the one or more animal hides inside the first packaging volume. The first packaging volume is sealed off from the surrounding environment. A microorganism growth inhibiting environment inside the first packaging volume compared to the surrounding environment is provided.
A Shoe Upper Blank and A Method of Manufacturing Thereof
A method of processing a sheet material (20) for use in the manufacture of products such as, but not limited to, a shoe upper blank (10). The method comprises providing a sheet material (20); providing a two-dimensional mark (30) on a surface of the sheet material (20); imposing an indentation (40) on said surface of the sheet material (20), wherein at least part of the indentation (40) is arranged with respect to at least part of the two-dimensional mark (30) to create a three-dimensional mark (50) on said surface. A blank for such a product is also related. The blank (10) comprises a sheet material (20) shaped in accordance with the product such as a shoe upper, the sheet material (20) comprising a two-dimensional mark (30) is provided thereon and is positioned with respect to an indentation (40) formed in the sheet material (20) to thereby provide a three-dimensional mark (50) on said surface.
Apparatus for delivering filamentary material into a patient
There are disclosed various dispensing mechanisms for dispensing filamentary material through a catheter into a treatment site of a patient, for example into an aneurysm sack in a patient's vessel. In one embodiment, the dispensing assembly includes a chamber having a spherical carrier onto which filamentary material is wound. Upon injecting driving fluid into the dispensing assembly filamentary material unwinds from the spherical carrier and is pulled through the catheter to be dispensed from the distal end of the catheter. The apparatus includes a pressure sensitive valve disposed at the inlet or the outlet of the receptacle, the pressure sensitive valve being closed when the pressure of driving fluid is below a threshold and open when the pressure of driving fluid is above the threshold. The pressure sensitive valve, when open, allows fluid flow through the chamber and dispensation of filamentary material from the outlet.

Tissue modification devices, systems, and methods
A tissue modification apparatus includes at least a first plurality of grippers aligned in a plane adapted to secure a first edge of a patch of tissue. The plurality of grippers are each secured to a first force actuator. The first plurality of grippers are each adapted to pivot relative to the first force actuator about an axis perpendicular to the plane. In some cases, a plurality of grippers are attached to a force actuator by a passive force transfer mechanism. In some cases, individual force actuators are attached by pivoted connections to individual grippers. Methods of treating tissue can secure tensioned tissue to a frame to retain the tension during a treatment (e.g., cross-linking the tissue with a chemical cross-linker).
