METHOD OF RECOVERING CATHODE ACTIVE MATERIAL PRECURSOR
A method of recovering a cathode active material precursor according to an embodiment of the present invention includes preparing a cathode active material mixture including a lithium composite oxide, separating lithium from the cathode active material mixture to form a preliminary transition metal precursor, acid-treating the preliminary transition metal precursor to form a complex transition metal salt solution, and adding an acidic extractant to the complex transition metal salt solution and then adding a basic compound to recover a transition metal precursor, and thus the extraction rate of transition metals can be improved.
CHROMATOGRAPHIC METHOD FOR SEPARATING TRANSITION METALS
A method for separating of at least two transition metals, the method comprising: injecting a feed solution into a chromatography column comprising a chromatographic support media, the feed solution comprising at least two transition metals; eluting the feed from the column in an elution cycle by flowing an eluent through the column, wherein a concentration of the eluent is reduced during the elution cycle prior to elution of at least one of the transition metals.
METHOD OF EXTRACTING LITHIUM FROM LITHIUM-CONTAINING SOLUTION
A method of extracting lithium from a lithium-containing solution according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: obtaining a lithium chloride solution from the lithium-containing solution; and crystallizing and removing sodium chloride in the obtained lithium chloride solution.
MULTILAYER FILMS AND RELATED USES THEREOF
Embodiments disclosed herein include multilayer films that have at least two layers. More particularly, disclosed in embodiments herein are multilayer films that include at least a first layer and a second layer, wherein the first layer includes at least one polyethylene polymer, wherein the second layer includes at least one water-soluble polymer, wherein the second layer is insoluble in water at a temperature of less than 20° C., wherein the second layer is soluble in water at a temperature of 20° C. or greater, and wherein the first layer has one or more openings through the first layer to expose the second layer. Also disclosed herein are methods of using such multilayer films for extracting metal from metal ore.
REMOVAL OF RADIONUCLIDES FROM MIXTURES
The present invention relates to a method of separating radioactive elements from a mixture, wherein the mixture is treated with at least one alkanesulfonic acid and at least one further acid, selected from the group consisting of hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, amidosulfonic acid and mixtures thereof and also the use of at least one alkanesulfonic acid and at least one further acid for separating radioactive elements from mixtures comprising these.
METHOD FOR NANOPARTICLE PURIFICATION
A method for purifying nanoparticles by which a large amount of nanoparticles can be obtained in a safe manner and in a short time as compared to a conventional method for purifying nanoparticles. A method for purifying nanoparticles by which nanoparticles are purified from a dispersion liquid in which nanoparticles are dispersed in a solvent A used in synthesis of the nanoparticles, the method including: a mixing step of mixing the dispersion liquid, a solvent B that is miscible with the solvent A, and a solvent C that forms two phases together with the solvent B; a concentrating step of concentrating the nanoparticles in a phase of the solvent C; a washing step of forming a third phase containing the nanoparticles in the phase of the solvent C; and a purifying step of extracting the third phase and removing the solvent C from the third phase.
Recycling of cobalt and nickel from lithium-ion batteries
A process for recovering a nickel cobalt manganese hydroxide from recycled lithium-ion battery (LIB) material such as black mass, black powder, filter cake, or the like. The recycled LIB material is mixed with water and either sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid at a pH less than 2. Cobalt, nickel, and manganese oxides from the recycled lithium-ion battery material dissolve into the acidic water with the reductive assistance of gaseous sulfur dioxide. Anode carbon is filtered from the acidic water, leaving the dissolved cobalt, nickel, and manganese oxides in a filtrate. The filtrate is mixed with aqueous sodium hydroxide at a pH greater than 8. Nickel cobalt manganese hydroxide precipitates from the filtrate. The nickel cobalt manganese hydroxide is filtered from the filtrate and dried. The filtrate may be treated ammonium fluoride or ammonium bifluoride to precipitate lithium fluoride from the filtrate. The composition ratio of nickel to cobalt to manganese in the acid filtrate may be adjusted to a desired ratio. The anode carbon is recovered and purified for reuse.
DESULFURISATION OF LEAD-CONTAINING WASTE
The present invention relates to the desulfurisation of lead-containing waste. In particular, the present invention relates to a method in which lead-containing waste is desulfurised to form a desulfurised lead-containing waste material which is suitable for recycling into lead or leady oxide. The method is particularly suitable for desulfurising lead-acid battery paste.
Method for the treatment of iron-containing sludge
The present invention provides a method for the treatment of sludge containing iron and between 4.5% to 12% by weight of zinc. This method includes a leaching step wherein leaching agents include hydrochloric acid and chlorate, and wherein the pH of the leachate directly resulting from this leaching step is set at a value below 1.5. A recycling method and treatment installation are also provided.
