The upper compartments and lower compartments receive radiological protective garments therein. The cleaning system includes a nozzle that expels disinfectant onto radiological protective garments positioned in the upper compartments or the lower compartments and a drying apparatus that dries the radiological protective garments after being disinfected. The x-ray emitter emits x-rays at a radiological protective garment positioned in the upper compartments or the lower compartments and the x-ray detector detects x-rays traversing the radiological protective garment to test the radiation shielding integrity of the radiological protective garment. The x-ray emitter and x-ray detector move about the storage apparatus from compartment to compartment to test the radiation shielding integrity of multiple radiological protective garments disposed across the compartments.
